The Simpana
software reports:
Attempted an
unsupported
operation
This issue occurs when
you attempt to join the
DL2xxx system to an
earlier version of the
CommServe.
The Simpana software
version of the Media Agent
can only join a
CommServe installed at
the same version. Go to
documentation.commvaul
t.com and under Release
Books Online, click
Simpana→ Upgrades→
Backward Compatibility.

may generate the
following error:

CommVault
Software setup
before running
the Dell
PowerVault DL
Backup to Disk
Appliance
Console
This error message
occurs because an
unexpected system
shutdown or power
failure on the DL2xxx
system interrupts the
remote installation of
an agent. Use the
CommVault installer
located on the
installation media
to deploy the
remote agents.
Launch the Windows
registry editor and delete
the GalaxyInstaller subkey
and its contents from the
following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHI
NE\SOFTWARE\CommV
ault Systems.
