BackupExecCPSprovidessnapshotmanagementwhichgivesadministratorsincreasedflexibilityandgranularityin
managingtheirpointintimesnapshots.BecauseBackupExecCPSleveragesVSSforsnapshots,amaximumof64
snapshotscanbesavedonthestoragevolume.However,CPSisunique,asit
enablesadministratorstodefine
snapshotpoliciesthatcontrolthespecificperiodsoftimesnapshotsareretained.Specifically,administratorscan
decidetoholdontoeachsnapshotforhourly,daily,weekly,andmonthlyintervals,providinggreaterflexibilityand
maximizingthe64snapshotsavailability.
AutomaticallyRecoversfromNetworkOutages
BackupExecCPS
canautomaticallyrecoverfromanetworkoutagethathasinterruptedcontinuousprotection.This
feature,calledAutoResume,isespeciallyusefulforWANconnectionsand remoteoffices.Intheevent ofa
connectivityissue,changeswilljournalontheprotectedfileserveruntilconnectivitywiththeprotectionserverhas
beenreestablished.
Uponreconnecting,theCPSwillautomaticallyresumecontinuousprotection,withouttheneed
