Concept Guide
Conguring a destination session
Following are the steps for conguring a destination session on a switch.
You can congure the below steps on other destination switches to congure additional destination ports for this RPM session.
1 Congure the destination session for RPM.
CONFIGURATION mode
monitor session session-id
2 Associate the Layer 2 VLAN used to transport monitored trac with this destination session.
MONITOR SESSION mode
source remote-vlan vlan-id destination interface direction {rx | tx | both}
3 (Optional) Congure destination ports so that the VLAN tag is added to the monitored trac.
MONITOR SESSION mode
tagged destination interface
To congure destination ports as untagged ports, enter the untagged destinationcommand.
Conguration Example of Remote Port Mirroring
This example provides a sample conguration of remote port mirroring (RPM) on a source switch, an intermediate switch, and a destination
switch based on the following illustration.

Following are the port numbers referred in the above illustration:
• 1 is twentyFiveGigE 1/1
• 2 is twentyFiveGigE 1/2
• 4 is twentyFiveGigE 1/4
• 5 is twentyFiveGigE 1/5
• 7 is twentyFiveGigE 1/7
