3. The IP address, boot image lename, and conguration lename are reserved for the switch and provided in the DHCP reply
(one-le read method). The switch receives its IP address, subnet mask, DHCP server IP, TFTP server address, DNS server IP,
bootle name, and conguration lename from the DHCP server.
If a DHCP oer has no image path or conguration le path, it is considered to be an invalid BMP DHCP oer and the oer is
ignored. The rst DHCP oer with the IP address, Dell Networking OS image, and conguration le, or the IP address and Dell
Networking OS image, or the IP address and conguration le is chosen.
4. The DHCP OFFER is selected.
a. All other ports are set to shutdown mode.

00:01:33: %STKUNIT0-M:CP %JUMPSTART-5-DHCP_OFFER: DHCP config file pt-s4810-12.
5. The switch sends a unicast message to the le server to retrieve the named Dell Networking OS le and/or the conguration
le from the base directory of the server.
a. If you use the bootfile-name option, the le name can be 256 bytes. If a lename eld is specied in the DHCP Oer,
the lename can be 128 bytes. The name can be a fully qualied URL or it can be a le name only.
b. When an Dell Networking OS image is found, the switch compares that image to the version the chassis currently has
loaded.
1. If there is a mismatch, the switch applies the downloaded version and reloads.
