1. Reconnect the SAS cables connected to the SAS expander daughter card and hard drive backplane.

Control panel
The control panel contains the power button, the diagnostic indicators, and the front USB ports.
Removing the control panel board
CAUTION:
Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform
troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or
telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by
your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.
1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.
2. Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system section.
3. Keep the Phillips #2 screwdriver ready.
4. Disconnect the cables connected to the control panel board.
NOTE:
Note the routing of the cables on the side of the system as you remove them from the control panel board. You
must route these cables properly when you replace them inside the shim stock pieces to prevent them from being
pinched or crimped.
1. Remove the screws that secure the control panel board to the chassis.
2. Slide the control panel board toward the back of the system, and remove the control panel board away from the system.
