Navigating CLI Command Modes
The following table describes how to navigate through the CLI Command Mode hierarchy.
Command Mode Access Method Command Prompt Exit or Access
Previous Mode
User EXEC The user is
automatically in User
EXEC mode unless the
user is defined as a
privileged user.

Privileged EXEC Use the enable
command to enter into
this mode. This mode
is password protected.

Use the exit

return to the User
EXEC mode.
Global Configuration From Privileged EXEC
mode, use the
configure command.
