Creating Operating System Installation Directories for Windows Server 2003
Operating Systems
For deployment of Windows Server 2003 operating systems, perform the
following steps:

On a management station create a folder, for example
os_deploy
.

Make this folder shareable.

Create two folders
Dell
and
W2K3SRC
under this shareable directory
os_deploy
.

Copy the
Dell
folder from WinPE DTK CD to
Dell
folder created under
os_deploy
folder on the management station.

Copy
i386
folder from the Windows Server 2003 operating system CD to
the
W2K3SRC
folder created under the
os_deploy
folder on the
management station.

Inside the
os_deploy\Dell\toolkit\systems
folder, create a target system
folder for example “
pe4600
”. Inside this folder create a folder
$OEM$.NET
” for the Windows Server 2003 operating system
installation.
The target system name should be the DTK standard name. To know the
system name, run
TKENVSET.BAT
located in the
x:\Dell\Toolkit\template\scripts
directory,
and then run the
SET
command. In the
Details
section, see the
dt_platform
name.

Create one more directory
textmode
under
$OEM$.NET
. Copy the
extracted controller drivers downloaded from
support.dell.com
to the
textmode
folder.

Copy
unattend.txt
from
os_deploy\dell\toolkit\template\configs
folder to
os_deploy\dell\toolkit\systems\pe4600
.

Edit
unattend.txt
and modify the following mandatory fields:
