Backing Up Server Profile Using iDRAC7 Web Interface
To back up the server profile using iDRAC7 Web interface:
1. Go to OverviewiDRAC SettingsBackup and Restore
.
The Backup and Restore Server Profile page is displayed.
2. Select Backup.
3. Select one of the following to save the backup file image:
Network Share to save the backup file image on a CIFS or NFS share.
vFlash
4. Enter the backup file name and encryption passphrase (optional).
5. If
Network
is selected as the file location, enter the network settings.

6. Click Backup Server Profile.
The backup operation is initiated and you can view the status on the Job Queue page. After a successful operation,
the backup file is created in the specified location.
Backing Up Server Profile Using RACADM
To backup the server profile using RACADM, use systemconfig backup subcommand. For more information, see the
RACADM Command Line Reference Guide for iDRAC7 and CMC
available at dell.com/support/manuals.
Restoring Server Profile Using iDRAC7 Web Interface
The backup file is used to restore the system.
To backup and restore the server profile using iDRAC7 Web interface:
1. Go to OverviewiDRAC SettingsBackup and Restore .
The
Backup and Restore Server Profile page is displayed.
2. Select Restore
.
3. Select one of the following to specify the location of the backup file:
Network Share
vFlash
4. Enter the backup file name and decryption passphrase (optional).
5. If Network is selected as the file location, enter the network settings.

6. Select one of the following:
Preserve - Preserve the existing virtual disk configuration and hard disk data.
Delete and Replace - Replace the system with the data from the backup image file.
7. Click Restore Server Profile
.
The restore operation is initiated.
