Modify Settings Dialog Box (NAS Containers)
The Modify Settings dialog box enables you to change settings dened for a NAS container. This dialog box includes the following
tabs:
• Container Name
• Data Reduction
• Space
• Access Permissions
• Advanced

Field Description Shortcut
Name Unique name assigned to the NAS container. The unique container name can contain up to
229 characters including letters, numbers, and underscores. Names must begin with a
letter or underscore. The NAS container name will appear in any NFS export created in the
NAS container.

Field Description Shortcut
Enable data reduction Enables data reduction on the NAS container. Selecting this checkbox displays a
conrmation message. You must click Yes in the message to enable data reduction on the
new container.

Modify policy Displays the Modify Policy dialog box, where you can specify the type of data reduction to
use and set lters to determine when les are considered for data reduction. This button is
enabled only after you have clicked Yes in the conrmation message to enable data
reduction on the container. Data deduplication is always enabled in the data reduction
policy.
