3 Maintaining Control Modules
A PS5000 array includes one or two hot-swappable control modules. Each control
module includes a compact flash card running PS Series firmware. Control

Supported Control Modules
A PS5000 array supports two control modules, one for each disk type:
• Type 4 control modules for use with SAS disks (black disk release button).
• Type 5 control modules for use with SATA disks (gray disk release button).

Do not mix control module types in an array. Also, make sure the control module
type is compatible with the disk type.
