16. DISPLAYED MESSAGES
DISPLAYED MESSAGE POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION
FILL TANK Insucient water in the tank (A16). Fill the tank with water and/or insert it cor-
rectly, pushing it as far as it will go until it
clicks into place.
EMPTY GROUNDS CONTAINER The grounds container (A10) is full. Empty the grounds container and drip tray
(A12), clean and replace (g. 31). Important:
when removing the drip tray, the grounds con-
tainer MUST be emptied, even if it contains few
grounds. If this is not done, when you make the
next coees, the grounds container may ll up
more than expected and clog the machine.
GROUND TOO FINE ADJUST
MILL
The grinding is too ne and the coee is delive-
red too slowly or not at all.
Repeat coee delivery and turn the grin-
ding adjustment dial (A5, g. 14) one click
clockwise towards “7” while the coee mill is
in operation. If after making at least 2 coees
delivery is still too slow, repeat the correction
procedure, turning the grinding adjustment
dial another click (section “8.4 Adjusting the
coee mill”). If the problem persists, make sure
the water tank (A16) is fully inserted, press the
button (B7-g. 6) and deliver a little water
from the spout (C6).
If the water softener lter (C4) is present, an
air bubble may have been released inside the
circuit, obstructing delivery.
Insert hot cappuccino maker/water spout (C6)
in the appliance and deliver a little water until
the ow becomes regular.
INSERT GROUNDS CONTAINER After cleaning, the grounds container has not
been replaced (A10).
Remove the drip tray (A12-g. 31) and insert
the grounds container.
ADD PREGROUND COFFEE With the “pre-ground coee” function selected,
pre-ground coee has not been poured into the
funnel (A4).
Place pre-ground coee in the funnel or dese-
lect the “pre-ground” function (g. 18).
DESCALE The machine must be descaled. The descaling procedure described in section
“12. DESCALING” needs to be performed as soon
as possible.
REDUCE COFFEE AMOUNT Too much coee has been used.
Select a milder taste by pressing the
button (B2- g. 11) or reduce the quantity of
pre-ground coee.
FILL BEANS CONTAINER The coee beans have run out. Fill the beans container (A3-g. 15).
The pre-ground coee funnel (A4) is clogged. Empty the funnel with the help of the brush
(C5) as described in section “11.8 Cleaning the
pre-ground coee funnel”.
INSERT INFUSER ASSEMBLY The infuser has not been replaced after clea-
ning (A15).
Insert the infuser as described in section “11.9
Cleaning the infuser”.
