Section 1 - Product Overview Introduction The D-Link DSP-W320 Outdoor Wi-Fi Smart Plug is a multi-purpose, compact, and easy-to-use device that allows you to control your home’s electric appliances from wherever you are. Scheduling provides a helpful way to save power while you’re at work or asleep, and the mydlink™ app provides an easy way to set up alerts, or power an appliance on or off. Section 2 - Installation Installation Safety Please read all of the safety and operating instructions before using your device: • • • • Do not open the device or attempt to repair or service it. Use the device in a dry location, and avoid placing it in a humid environment. Do not submerge the device in liquid or attempt to clean it with liquids or solvents. To clean the device, disconnect from the power outlet and use a damp towel. This device should only be used indoors.
Section 2 - Installation Wireless Installation Considerations The DSP-W320 Outdoor Wi-Fi Smart Plug connects to your network using a wireless connection from virtually anywhere within the operating range of your wireless network. Keep in mind that the number, thickness and location of walls, ceilings, or other objects that the wireless signals must pass through may limit the range. Typical ranges vary depending on the types of materials and background RF (radio frequency) noise in your home or business.
Section 2 - Installation mydlink App Device Setup 1 / Download the mydlink app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) by scanning the QR code. Note: Ensure your device is connected wirelessly to the network that the DSP-W320 will be in. 2 / Launch the mydlink app and create a new account or sign in to your existing account. Note: If you are asked about allowing the app to access your location, select Allow. Make sure location services are turned on in your phone’s settings.
Section 2 - Installation 3 After logging in, tap the Menu button 4 Select Add New Device. / / in the top-left corner. Note: Bluetooth must be enabled on your phone.
Section 2 - Installation 5 / When asked to scan a Setup Code, select Yes or No. If you selected Yes: Scan the setup code on the plug or on the Quick Installation Card. If you selected No: Select DSP-W320 from the plug list, then press Next.
Section 2 - Installation 6 / Follow the onscreen instructions to establish a connection to the device. Choose the Device Location of your device, a Wi-Fi network for the device to connect to and (optional) You must select a Wi-Fi network for the device to connect to otherwise the Next button will be inaccessible. Tap Next when all items have been determined. Note: Uncheck Add to shortcut if you don't want the device appearing on the home screen of your mydlink app.
Section 3 - mydlink Using the mydlink App Controlling Your Device Note: Screenshots are representative only. The mydlink app is constantly improving and so may appear different. After setting up your DSP-W320 Outdoor Wi-Fi Smart Plug with a mydlink account in the mydlink app, you will be able to remotely access your smart plug through the app. After signing into your mydlink account, you will see a screen similar to the following.
Section 3 - mydlink Device To access the device page: • From the home page, tap > Devices > Plug > navigate to your plug on the carousel > or tap on the plug's icon. The device page contains several options for you to configure your plug.
Section 3 - mydlink 1 Device Photo Tap to add a customized photo of this device. 2 Device Name Tap to change the device’s name. 3 Device Location 4 Wi-Fi Displays the Wi-Fi network that the plug is currently connected to. To change it, please factory reset the device. 5 Upgrade Time Shows time of auto firmware upgrade. Tap to enter the firmware upgrade settings. You can choose the most suitable time for automatic updates as well as turn them off.
Section 3 - mydlink Countdown Timer You can set a timer that keeps the plug powered on for a set amount of time by going to the plug's settings mydlink app. To access the Countdown Timer menu, tap D-Link DSP-W320 User Manual > Devices > navigate to your plug on the carousel > .
Section 3 - mydlink Step 1: tap the icon to change the time duration. Step 2: Choose a time duration and then tap Done. or to choose whether to plug turns on or off when the timer ends. Step 3: Tap either Then press Start to start the countdown. Step 4: You can tap Stop to cancel the timer. After less than one minute is remaining it will display the seconds.
Section 3 - mydlink Timeline You can view event logs such as when the plug gets disconnected by going to the Timeline section of the mydlink app. To access the Timeline menu, tap D-Link DSP-W320 User Manual > Event & Video > Event.
Section 3 - mydlink Timeline Filter You can choose what appears in the Timeline menu for the selected day by using the Filter feature. Tap the button in the top-right corner of the Timeline page. Here, you will see three filter types to choose from. Tap on either one of the filters to go the settings screen for that particular filter type. Tap the menu.
Section 3 - mydlink The left screen allows you to select the types of events that you want to be displayed on the Timeline. Tap row to select/de-select. The middle screen allows you to select the devices that you want to be displayed on the Timeline. Tap row to select/de-select. The right screen allows you to select the locations that you want to be displayed on the Timeline. Tap row to select/de-select.
Section 3 - mydlink Automation Here you can add automation rules that trigger actions based on a certain event. To access the automation rules page for your device tap Tap the > Settings > Automation. button in the top-right corner of the Automation page to add a new automation sequence.
Section 3 - mydlink 1 / 2 / You can name your automation sequence and change the icon by tapping the icon to access the editing menu. Tap to save your edits and return to the Automation Rule page. Tap the button in the bottom-right corner of the Automation sequence page to add a new automation rule.
Section 3 - mydlink 3 / Select the device and trigger event by tapping on the option. For audio events, tapping will take you to a menu to customize your audio detection settings. Tap Next to continue. 4 / Select the action you would like to take place. For example, you can trigger the plug to turn on, a camera to start recording, or to receive a push notification on your phone. For smart plugs, tapping will take you to a menu to chose if you want the plug to turn on or turn off. Tap Next to continue.
Section 3 - mydlink 5 Review your rule settings. / Tap Save to save the rule and return to the Automation menu. 6a / (Optional) To add an additional rule to this automation sequence, tap .
Section 3 - mydlink 6b / (Optional) To delete a rule, tap and then tap to remove an to save automation rule from the automation sequence. Tap your changes.
Section 3 - mydlink To enable the Automation, you must go to the Automation carousel page and tap the rule to enable it. The icon will be lit green to show that the rule is on. To disable it, tap on the rule again and the icon will turn grey. To delete the Automation rule, tap the icon to access the Automation Rule page. Then tap the icon to delete the entire automation sequence.
Section 3 - mydlink Schedule Here you can set schedules for your device to follow. To access the Schedules page for your DSP-W320, tap Tap the > Settings > Schedule. button in the top-right corner of the Schedule page to add a new scheduled action.
Section 3 - mydlink 1 / 2 / You can name your schedule and change the icon by tapping the icon to access the editing menu. Tap to save your edits and return to the Schedule Rule page. Tap the day of the week from the menu to select the first day.
Section 3 - mydlink 3 / 4 / Tap the button in the bottom-right corner of the Schedule page to adjust the time. Select from an Automation function or an Action that will be performed for this current schedule. Tap Next to continue.
Section 3 - mydlink 5 / Choose either the Entire Day by tapping on Type, or chose Start and End times below by tapping their respective rows and adjusting from the sliders. (Optional) Tap Add Schedule to add more time periods. A maximum of 12 time periods can be created. To remove time periods, tap Delete and tap the respective time period.
Section 3 - mydlink 6 / If you want the scheduled action to take place on other days of the week, check the appropriate boxes. Tap Save to save your settings. 7 / Tap the days of the week to view day's schedules.
Section 3 - mydlink To remove the schedule on a specific day: Tap Delete, then to remove a device from the schedule. Tap Delete to confirm, then tap Done to save your changes.
Section 3 - mydlink To edit the time duration of a schedule on a specific day: Tap the Automation or Action that has assigned time durations. Tap the start or end times to edit them. Tap Delete to remove an entire time duration, then tap Done to save that deletion or to cancel out of delete mode. When you have finished your edits, tap Next then Save to save your changes.
Section 3 - mydlink To enable the a Schedule, you must go to the Schedule carousel page and tap the rule to enable it. The icon will be lit green to show that the rule is on. To disable it, tap on the rule again and the icon will turn grey. To delete the Schedule rule, tap the icon to access the Schedule Rule page. Then tap the icon to delete the entire schedule.
Section 3 - mydlink Firmware Upgrade You can upgrade the firmware for your device in this section. To access the Firmware Upgrade page for your DSP-W320 Outdoor Wi-Fi Smart Plug, navigate to the DSP-W320's Device page (from the home page, tap > Devices > Plug > navigate to device on the carousel > ) and scroll down to the bottom to tap Upgrade Time.
Section 3 - mydlink Tap to enable/disable automatic Over-The-Air firmware updates. 1 Auto-Upgrade Note: It’s recommended you enable Auto-Upgrade to make sure you have the most up-to-date security updates. 2 Upgrade Time Tap to change the time for automatic firmware updates to be downloaded and installed. 3 Upgrade Reminder Tap to change the notification time whenever there is a new update.
Section 4 - Troubleshooting Troubleshooting 1. How can I access my device remotely through the Internet? In order to use your device remotely through the Internet using the mydlink app, you must register your device with a mydlink account. You can do this using the free mydlink app. Please go to Using the mydlink App on page 10. for more information. 2. How do I update the firmware of my device? You can update your device’s firmware by using the mydlink app.
