OIL AND FUEL MIXING INSTRUCTIONS Old and/or improperly mixed fuel are the main reasons for the unit not running properly, Be sure to use fresh (less than 60 days old) clean unleaded fuel. Follow the instructions carefully for the proper fuel/oil mixture. Definition of Blended Fuels Today's fuels are often a blend of gasoline and oxy_ genates such as ethanol, methanol, or MTBE (ether). Alcohol-blended fuel absorbs water.
IMPORTANT: WARNING." in awell-ventitated Gasoline blended with alcohols such as ethanol or methanol (called gasohol) can attract moisture which leads to separation and formation of acids during storage. Acidic gas can damage the fuel system of an engine when in storage. To avoid engine problems, the fuel system should be emptied before storage for 30 days or longer. Take the bottom plate off then use a wire with a hook (A) and pull oil filter (B) from reservoir. Remove old filter and replace. 2. The sprocket tip on your new saw has been pre-lubricated at the factory. Failure to lubricate the guide bar sprocket tip as explained below will result in poor performance and seizure, voiding the manufacturer s warranty.
GUIDE Chain Lubrication Always make sure the automatic oiler system is working properly. Keep the oil reservoir filled with Chain, Bar and Sprocket Oil, Adequate lubrication of the bar and chain during cutting operations is essential to minimize friction with the guide bar. BAR MAINTENANCE: Most guide bar problems can be prevented merely by keeping the chain saw wel! maintained.
