Warning Label • This label is a warning and caution label for Class 2 laser products that comply with IEC60825-1:2014. • Although Class 2 laser light is only emitted momentarily, never look directly into the beam light. • The laser light emitted by this laser scanner has a maximum output of less than 1 mW and a wavelength of 650 nm. • Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
Operating Precautions Warning Disassembly and Modification • Never try to disassemble or modify the terminal and its options in any way. Disassembly prohibited Abnormal Conditions • Should the terminal and/or its options become hot or start to emit smoke or a strange odor, immediately turn off the power and contact your dealer or distributor whom you purchased the product from, or an authorized CASIO service provider.
Warning LCD Screen • Never apply strong pressure to the screen or subject it to strong impact. Doing so can crack the LCD Screen. Prohibitions Should the LCD become cracked, never touch any of the liquid inside. • LCD liquid getting on the skin creates the risk of skin irritation. • Should LCD liquid get into your mouth, immediately rinse your mouth out and contact your physician. • Should LCD liquid get in your eyes or on your skin, rinse with clean water and then contact your physician.
Built-in Battery Danger Prohibitions • Do not splash water on the terminal or otherwise bring it into contact with water or seawater. Doing so could cause the built-in battery to overheat, rupture or catch fire. • Do not use or place the terminal in a hot location, such as close to a fire or heater. Power Supply / AC Adapter Warning Prohibitions Prohibitions Unplug from the power supply • Do not use the terminal at a voltage other than the specified voltage. Also, do not connect the terminal to a multi-plug power strip. • Never modify, sharply bend, twist, or pull on the power cord. • Never use a detergent to clean AC adapter and its power cable, especially on the plug and the jack. • Do not use an AC adapter with a bent connector.
Caution • If you do not plan to use the product for a long time, unplug from the power outlet. Operating Precautions Your terminal and its options are precision. Improper operation or rough handling can cause problems with data storage and other problems. Note and observe the following precautions to ensure proper operation. • Do not continue using the battery once it is exhausted. Doing so could result in data loss or corruption. When the battery is exhausted, replace it immediately. • Stop or avoid using the terminal and its options in areas and conditions subject to the following.
• • • • • • — Frequent repeated charging will shorten the life of the battery. You should wait until the battery is low on charge before charging it. — Charge the battery within the specified temperature range. Note that the specified temperature range varies depending on the equipment used. Refer to the User's Guide (download version). Charging outside the specified range can cause battery deterioration.
• Repairs to terminals configured with a Google account If a terminal needing repairs has been configured with a Google account, delete the Google account settings before sending the terminal to be repaired. During repairs, Casio resets the terminal to the factory default status. However, terminals with a Google account are equipped with the Google device protection function, which prevents unauthorized use in the event that it is lost or stolen.

Getting Ready to Use * In step 2, be sure to fully charge the terminal. 1. Confirm that all the items listed on page 11 are included in the package. 2. Charge the terminal. (→ page 17) 3. Turn the power on. (→ page 22) Replacing the screen protect sheet A screen protect sheet is affixed to the terminal. If the sheet is worn or peeling, replace it as described below. So that the screen protect sheet attaches uniformly, ensure that its long edge is just touching the edge of the liquid-crystal screen and that the sheet is not skewed. 4. Installing and Removing the AC Adapter The AC adapter must be fitted with a suitable power plug for the region where the terminal will be used. IInstallation 1. Insert the protruding part of the AC adapter plug into the recess in the top of the AC adapter ( ) until the plug clicks into place ( ). USB AC adapter Removal 1. Push the AC adapter plug release lever in the direction indicated by the arrow in the figure ( ) and then pull out the AC adapter plug in the direction of the arrow ( ).
Charging the Terminal You can charge the ET-L10 using the enclosed USB Type-C cable, the USB AC adapter or the optional cradle-type battery charger. Check the charging status LED to confirm the ET-L10 charging status. Cradle-type Battery Charger 1. Plug the USB DC cable into the AC adapter jack in the bottom of the cradle-type battery charger. 2. Plug the USB DC cable into the power cable slit. 3. Connect the USB DC cable to the AC adapter and then plug the AC adapter into the mains power outlet. Place the ET-L10 in the cradle-type battery charger socket so that the terminals in the base of the ET-L10 are touching the power contacts in the cradle-type battery charger.
Precautions for Use • Take care not to trap objects such as the strap in the cradle. • The power supply terminal should be cleaned periodically using an implement such as a dry cotton bud. Soiling or dust buildup could cause connection problems. • After attaching the cable, check that the charging status LED is lit. • If you begin charging the terminal when the built-in battery is fully discharged, it may take several minutes for the charging status LED to light.
Using a nanoSIM or microSD Card This terminal supports nanoSIM cards and microSD cards. To use WAN functions, a SIM card must be installed. Installing the nanoSIM/microSD card 1. Turn the terminal off (shut it down). (The terminal must be shut down.) 2. Flip back the nanoSIM/microSD card tray cover. Fit the eject pin into the hole in the card tray and then push it into the hole. Card tray hole 3. Remove the nanoSIM/microSD card tray. 4.
Removing the nanoSIM/microSD card 1. Turn the terminal off (shut it down). (The terminal must be shut down.) 2. Remove the nanoSIM/microSD card tray. (Steps 2 and 3 in the installation procedure on page 20) 3. Remove the nanoSIM card or microSD card from the nanoSIM/microSD card tray. 4. Install the nanoSIM/microSD card tray in the terminal and close the cover.
Turning the Power On/Off and Sleep Turning the Power On 1. Hold down the Power key until the terminal vibrates. • The startup screen is displayed. Precautions for Use • When you first purchase the ET-L10, be sure to completely charge the terminal’s built-in battery before turning the power on for the first time. • If the terminal does not start up normally when you turn the power on, the level of charge in the built-in battery may be too low.
Performing Communications Bluetooth® Communication Bluetooth® interface can also be used to transfer data between two terminals. With Bluetooth® the two terminals should be located within about five meters from each other, as long as there is nothing blocking the path between them. Important! Observe the following precautions to help ensure that Bluetooth communication is successful. • Make sure two terminals face each other within five meters.
Rebooting the Terminal If the terminal no longer operates normally due to a problem such as an operating error or severe impact, use the procedure below to attempt to restore normal operation. 1. Reboot 2. Forced Reboot Reboot 1. With the screen turned on, hold down the Power key until the Power menu is displayed. 2. Tap “Reboot”. Forced Reboot 1. USB Type-C Cable The USB Type-C cable can be used to connect the ET-L10 to a computer. It can also be used to supply power to the ET-L10. Connecting to a computer 1. Connect the USB Type-C cable to the USB Type-C port on the ET-L10. Precautions for Use • Water or other moisture on the ET-L10 and USB Type-C cable power supply/data communication terminal could cause sparking or an electric shock, and soiling on the terminal could block the connection and impair charging functionality.
