The print settings may not be the best for the images you are printing.

• Experiment with different settings and different types of paper.
■ Hue changes.
The nozzles on the BJ cartridge print head may be clogged.
•Refer to the flow chart (1p. 12-9) and clean the BJ cartridge print head if necessary.

The BJ cartridge or tanks may need to be replaced.
•Determine if the problem is with the BJ cartridge or tanks (1p. 12-8), and replace if

■ Blue looks like purple.
Blue prints out as purple because of the difference in color technology used by
the screen and the MultiPASS; the screen uses RGB (Red, Green, Blue) color and
the MultiPASS uses CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) color. Due to the
technology differences, when cyan and magenta are mixed together, blue prints
dark blue or purple compared to the screen.

■ Color images are missing some detail.
Check to see if your MultiPASS printer driver is set to Plain Paper, Color Mode,
and Halftoning is set to Diffusion.

Paper Feeding Problems
■ Paper does not load.
The multi-purpose tray may contain too many sheets.
• Make sure the paper stack in the multi-purpose tray is below the paper limit mark (P).

• Make sure the paper stack is loaded properly in the multi-purpose tray, and that the
paper guide is adjusted correctly. (1 p. 2-17)
■ Paper is loaded skewed. (Printing is skewed.)

• Make sure the right edge of the paper stack is aligned with the right side of the multi-
purpose tray and the paper guide is aligned with the left edge of the stack. (1 p. 2-19)
• Make sure the paper exit path is clear.
