Names and Functions of Parts
A Document Cover
Close this to keep documents in place while scanning.
B Scanning Glass
C Stop Button
Press this button to stop scan procedures in progress.
D Start Button
Press this button to start scanning the document placed on the
scanning glass.
E Power Indicator
This lights when the flatbed is turned ON and flashes when
scanning is in progress.
F Power Button
Use this to turn the flatbed ON and OFF.
When you press this to turn the flatbed ON, the power indicator
lights.
To turn the flatbed OFF, press and hold the button until the power
indicator flashes.
The scanning unit starts to move when the indicator starts flashing,
and the indicator turns OFF when the moving stops.
CAUTION
Do not disconnect the power cord or lock the lock switch until the
scanning unit stops moving.
NOTE
The auto power OFF setting, which automatically turns the flatbed
OFF if it is not operated for 4 hours, is enabled under default
conditions.
For details on disabling this setting, see “Auto Power OFF Setting”
on p. 26.
G Lock Switch
Use this to lock the internal scanning unit into place.
H USB Connector (Type A)
Use this connector to connect the flatbed to a scanner.
I USB Connector (Type B)
Use this connector to connect the flatbed to a computer.
J Power Connector
Connect the provided AC adapter here.
