The ND filter reduces light intensity to 1/8 (3 stops) of the actual level,
allowing for slower shutter speeds and smaller aperture values.
Choose ND filter.
z After pressing the m button, press the
op buttons to choose .
Choose .
z Press the qr buttons or turn the 7 dial to
choose , then press the m button.
You can make the main subject, such as people, appear bright by having the
camera provide the appropriate illumination with the flash. At the same time,
you can use a slow shutter speed to brighten the background that the light
from the flash cannot reach.
Choose Z.
z After pressing the r button, press the qr
buttons or turn the 7 dial to choose Z,
then press the m button.
X If the flash is lowered, it will automatically
raise.
X Once set, Z will appear on the screen.
Shoot.
z Even if the flash fires, ensure that the main
subject does not move until the shutter
sound ends.
Using the ND Filter
Attach the camera to a tripod to prevent camera shake. Additionally, you
should set [IS Mode] to [Off] when shooting with a tripod (p. 186).

blurring the image. Additionally, you should set [IS Mode] to [Off] when
