Images Displayed During Playback
Each set of images shot continuously is managed as a single group, and
only the rst image in that group will be displayed. To indicate that the
image is part of a group, [ ] is displayed in the upper left of the screen.
If you erase a grouped image (=
96), all images in the group are
also erased. Be careful when erasing images.
Grouped images can be played back individually (=
89) and ungrouped
(=
89).
Protecting (=
93) a grouped image will protect all images in the group.
Grouped images can be viewed individually when played back using Image
Search (=
88) or Smart Shufe (=
92). In this case, images are
temporarily ungrouped.
Grouped images cannot be tagged as favorites (=
99), edited (=
98
– 103), printed (=
146), set for printing individually (=
151), added to a
Photobook (=
153), and Face ID information cannot be edited (=
90). To
do these things, either view grouped images individually (=
89) or cancel
grouping (=
89) rst.

Shooting Stitch Assist Images
Shoot a large subject by taking multiple shots at various positions, and then
use the software (=
19) to combine them into a panorama.
1 Choose [x] or [v].
Follow steps 1 – 2 in “Specic Scenes”
(=
55) and choose [x] or [v].
2 Take the rst shot.
The rst shot will determine the exposure
and white balance.
3 Take additional shots.
Compose the second shot so that it
partially overlaps the image area of the
rst shot.
Minor misalignment of overlapping
portions will be corrected automatically
when the images are combined.
You can take up to 26 shots, the same
way you took the second shot.
4 Finish shooting.
Press the <m> button.
5 Use the software to combine the
images.
For instructions on merging images, refer
to the Software Guide (=
19).
