You can magnify the image and focus precisely with MF (manual focus).

Set the lens’s focus mode switch
to <MF>.
Turn the lens’s focusing ring to focus
roughly.

Display the magnifying frame.
Press the <u> button.
X The magnifying frame will appear.

Move the magnifying frame.
Use <9> to move the magnifying
frame to the position where you want
to focus.
Pressing <9> will return the
magnifying frame to the screen’s
center.

Magnify the image.
Each time you press the <u> button,
the magnification within the frame will
change as follows:
While in magnified view, you can use
<9> to scroll around the magnified
image.
