Use the self-timer when you want to be in the picture such as a
commemorative photograph.

Press the <R> button (9).

Select the self-timer.
While looking at the LCD panel or in
the viewfinder, turn the <6> dial.
Q : Shoot in 10 sec.
The picture is taken approx. 10
sec. after you press the shutter
button completely. Remote
control shooting is also
possible (p.271).
k : Shoot in 2 sec.
The picture is taken approx. 2 sec. after you press the shutter
button completely. Remote control shooting is also possible.

: 10-sec. self-timer plus consecutive shots
Turn the <5> dial to set the number of multiple shots (2 to
10) to be taken with the self-timer. The picture is taken in 10
sec. after you press the shutter button completely. Remote
control shooting (p.271) is not possible.

Take the picture.
Look through the viewfinder, focus on
the subject, then press the shutter
button completely.
X You can check the self-timer
operation with the self-timer lamp,
beeper, and countdown display (in
seconds) on the LCD panel.
X Approx. 2 sec. before the picture is
taken, the self-timer lamp will light up
and the beeper will sound faster.
