INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing this cutting machine. This guide provides setup instructions so that you can use a wireless network to send data created in CanvasWorkspace to your cutting machine (hereafter referred to as “machine”) as well as save data that you have edited on your machine to CanvasWorkspace. Carefully read the instructions in this guide and complete the setup to easily transfer data without the need for any device such as a USB flash drive.

Quick Wireless Network Setup Instructions For quick and easy instructions on how to set up your wireless network, please follow the steps below. For more detailed setup procedure, please refer to page 6, and if a connection is not established correctly and an error message appears, see “Error codes/Error messages” on page 13. ■ Requirements for the wireless network connection c Select “ON” for “WLAN Enable”. The wireless network connection complies with IEEE 802.11 n/g/b standards and uses the 2.
g When the message shown below appears, touch the “Yes” key. l Click in the upper-right corner of the screen. h When a connection is established, the following message appears, touch the “Next” key. The page for managing your account appears. i m Click “Machine(s) Registration”. n Click “Register a New Machine”. Once you have completed reading the message appears on the following screen, touch the “Register” key.
p q Note the four-digit PIN code that appears on the screen. The Wireless network connection has completed! Now, you can transfer data between your cutting machine and CanvasWorkspace or the Artspira app! For details on transferring the data, refer to Operation Manual. Go back to your machine's screen and then touch the “OK” key. The PIN code input screen appears. r s Type in the four-digit PIN code that appeared in the CanvasWorkspace screen, and then touch the “OK” key. Touch the “OK” key.
Connect Machine to a Wireless Network The following procedures are detailed information for network settings. Memo Activate the Wireless Network a • Another way to turn “ON” the “WLAN Enable” is by selecting “Yes” when the message below appears in the “Setup Wizard”. Turn on the machine. When the following message appears, touch the “OK” key. Set up the Wireless Network Wireless LAN connection can be set up by using the wizard (recommended) or alternative method.
Note Note • If you do not know this information (Network Name (SSID) and Network Password (Key)), you cannot continue the wireless setup. • How can I find this information? 1) You should see the documentation provided with your wireless access point/router. 2) The default Network Name (SSID) could be the manufacturer’s name or the model name. 3) If you do not know the security information, please consult the router manufacturer, your system administrator, or internet provider.
f When the message shown below appears, touch the “Yes” key. The following screen appears when a connection is established. Touch the “Next” key, and then continue with “Register Machine Under CanvasWorkspace” on page 10. Note • If a connection was not successfully established: - If the message “Wrong Network Key: Err-04” appeared, the Network Password (Key) may have been entered incorrectly.
Check the Wireless Network Setup/ Status Follow these instructions when you can't establish the wireless network connection. a Using the “Others” Menu The “Others” menu is at the bottom of the network settings screen. Under “Network” settings screen as shown below, touch “WLAN Status”. The “Others” menu contains the following items. a The wireless network connection status, protocol, signal strength and Network Name (SSID) are displayed. b c d a b c d a Displays the connection status.
Register Machine Under CanvasWorkspace Once you have registered your machine under CanvasWorkspace, you can now transfer data to and from CanvasWorkspace and your machine. b After the following screen, describing how to obtain the PIN code, appears, leave the screen displayed, and then continue with the next [COMPUTER] operation. This section describes the procedure for linking a machine with a specific number to a CanvasWorkspace login ID.
d Click in the upper-right corner of the screen. g Type in your machine number, and then click the “OK” button. The page for managing your account appears. e Click “Machine(s) Registration”. Memo • Your machine number appears on your machine in the screen shown in step b describing how to obtain the PIN code. A four-digit PIN code appears in the screen. f Click “Register a New Machine”. j ■ Deleting the linked login ID Touch the “OK” key. To completely delete a linked login ID from the machine, follow the procedure below. a Touch b Touch the “OK” key. . The machine information is transferred to the server. k Touch the “OK” key. The account registration screen appears. The login ID is deleted, and the following screen appears. a b c a Login ID registered with the machine b Touch this key to link your machine with a different login ID.
Troubleshooting Please do not contact Brother Customer Service for assistance without the wireless security information. We cannot assist you in locating your network security settings. How can I find the wireless security information (Network Name (SSID) and Network Password) 1) You should see the documentation provided with your wireless access point/router. 2) The default Network Name (SSID) could be the manufacturer’s name or the model name.
Error code Cause/Solution The Authentication/Encryption methods used by the selected wireless access point/router are not supported by your machine. For infrastructure mode, change the authentication and encryption methods of the wireless access point/router.
