Chapter 3: Bridgemate Control Software
The Bridgemate Control Software program is the bridge between your scoring program and the
Bridgemate system. BCS reads the session data from the scoring program though the result file and
loads it into the server so that the server can control the Bridgemates. Then, BCS retrieves the
entered board results from the server and stores these in the result file for posting by the scoring
program. BCS has been designed for simplicity and ease of use and is very user friendly.
This chapter contains information on the basic and advanced functions of Bridgemate Control
Software. For general use of the program, it is not necessary to know all the information contained in
this chapter. When first starting the system, make sure to read the paragraphs Launching Bridgemate
Control Software, Logging in and logging off Bridgemates” and Board results” first.
Launching Bridgemate Control Software
Bridgemate Control Software is launched from your scoring program. Depending on your scoring
program, there are several ways to launch BCS. The majority of scoring programs have a launching
function, enabling fully automatic activation of the Bridgemate II server and results reading. For more
information, please consult the manual of your scoring program.
The BCS screen is displayed as follows:
The name of the active result file is displayed in the title bar. If no result files are open, the text No
session active will be displayed.
Server information
The pane in the top left-hand corner of the screen displays information relating to the server. If a
server has been found, the text “connected and the version numbers will be displayed. If batteries are
used, the power meter will display the number of operating hours remaining in percentages. If you are
