The Exhaust Manifold should be cleared on a monthly basis to
ensure proper air flow in the UBB.
1. Turn off the UBB and allow to completely cool (minimum
of 2 hours).
2. Remove the heat exchanger cover plates (see previous
page for instructions).
3. Move the cleaning levers up and down several times until
they move freely. If needed, a bent wire can be used to
clean the back side of the tubes to ease movement of the
cleaning levers.
4. Using a shop vac, clean the ash around the base of the
tubes. See Figure 29.
5. Use the Exhaust Manifold Vacuum Attachments (available
at your dealer) to clean in behind the tubes.
6. Replace the heat exchanger cover plates.
To access this component, open Right Side Panel, and remove the
fan cover. See Figure 28. Using a brush and a vacuum, clean the
impeller, and fan housing. Inspect the gasket. If it is torn, replace
gasket before placing the stove back into service.
This cleaning should be performed once a year.
