WHERE TO USE
Recommended for properly prepared exterior weathered or cracked
horizontal and vertical wood and composite surfaces such as Decks, Railings,
Porches and Boat Docks. Also great for concrete surfaces such as Pool
Decks, Patios and Sidewalks. Do not use on drivable surfaces such as
garage oors and driveways.
PREPARATION
(Proper surface preparation is required.) All surfaces must be clean,
sound, dry and free of any dirt, oil, and grease before application.
Wood Surfaces: Replace rotting or unstable boards and remove loose
splinters. Remove mildew stains, dirt, oil and grease with a product such as
BEHR PREMIUM
®
No. 63 All-In-One Wood Cleaner prior to application. Use a
product such as BEHR PREMIUM No. 64 Wood Stain & Finish Stripper (must
be followed by No. 63) to remove all loose wood bers, peeling paint/stain or
deteriorated coatings prior to application of Extra Textured DECKOVER coating.
On new wood, use No. 63 to remove mill glaze and open the pores of the
wood. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry before coating. Concrete Surfaces:
Avoid areas that are structurally weak or subject to hydrostatic pressure
above 8 psi. Allow new surfaces to cure for 30 days. Use a product such as
BEHR PREMIUM No. 992 Concrete & Masonry Paint Stripper to strip peeling
coating. Use a product such as BEHR PREMIUM No. 991 Concrete & Masonry
Cleaner & Etcher to clean and etch uncoated concrete or No. 990 Concrete &
Masonry Degreaser & Cleaner on sound, coated surfaces prior to coating.
APPLICATION
Use product when air and surface temperatures are between 50-90˚ F
(10-32˚ C). During application, avoid exposure of container to direct sunlight.
Do not use if rain is expected within 24 hours. Avoid painting if humidity is
expected to be greater than 80%. Intermix multiple containers to ensure
color uniformity. Stir product occasionally throughout application. May thin
with up to 8 oz. of clean water per gallon. For nail holes and cracks up
to 1/4", completely ll in with Extra Textured DECKOVER coating using
a nylon/polyester brush and allow to dry prior to rolling. Deep nail
holes and cracks may require additional lling. For edges, corners and
in between wood boards, apply using a nylon/polyester brush. Use pressure
while rolling and apply a generous, even coat using the DECKOVER Extra
Textured Roller Cover. For vertical surfaces such as railings, use a nylon/
polyester brush or roller and apply two thin coats at a spread rate of 400 sq.
ft. per gallon. Do not use with airless sprayer. For optimum performance, lm
uniformity, leveling and to cover cracks, a second coat MUST be applied.
Maintain a wet edge when applying.
DRY TIME
4-6 hours before recoat. Dries to touch in 4 hours. Wait 24-48 hours before
light foot trafc. 72 hours to full cure. Additional dry time may be needed in
cooler temperatures and higher humidity. Premature heavy trafc will cause
coating failure.
DISPOSAL
For disposal of empty containers and unused product contact your household
refuse collection service.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead
dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS
ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT
WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator
to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet
mop. Before you start, nd out how to protect yourself and your family by
contacting the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log
on to www.epa.gov/lead.
WARNING! Sanding or scraping pressure treated lumber may be hazardous;
wear appropriate protection.
A quality product that contains a mildewcide will assist in providing a nish that is
resistant to mildew, provided that all existing mildew is removed prior to application.
While this product does contain a mildewcide, it will not prevent mildew growth.
WARNING! IRRITANT! HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED. CONTAINS: ETHYLENE GLYCOL.
MAY CAUSE EYE, NOSE AND THROAT IRRITATION. AVOID CONTACT WITH SKIN AND
EYES AND AVOID BREATHING OF VAPORS AND SPRAY MIST. WEAR EYE PROTECTION
AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. USE ONLY WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION. To avoid
breathing vapors and spray mist, open windows and doors or use other means to ensure
fresh air entry during application and drying. If you experience eye watering, headaches or
dizziness, increase fresh air. If properly used, a respirator (NIOSH approved for organic
vapor with P series particulate pre-lter) may offer additional protection; obtain professional
advice before using. A dust mask does not provide protection against vapors. Avoid contact
with eyes and skin. Wash thoroughly after handling. Close container after each use.
FIRST AID: If you experience difculty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air.
If continued difculty is experienced, get medical assistance immediately. In case of eye contact,
ush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15-20 minutes and get medical attention; for
skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water. If swallowed, get medical attention immediately.
CAUTION: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN - DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY.

If this product is found not to meet our manufacturing specications upon inspection by
our representative, Behr Process Corporation will, at its option and upon presentation of
proof-of-purchase (the original receipt), either furnish an equivalent amount of new product or refund
the original purchase price of this product to you. This warranty excludes (1) labor and costs of
labor for the application or removal of any product, and (2) any incidental or consequential
damages, whether based on breach of express or implied warranty, negligence, strict liability
or any other legal theory. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty
