8.1 element14 BeagleBone Black Cape Compatibility
The main expansion headers are the same between the BeagleBone and element14
BeagleBone Black. While the pins are the same, some of these pins are now used on the
element14 BeagleBone Black. The following sections discuss these pins.
The Power Expansion header was removed from the element14 BeagleBone Black and is
not available.

8.1.1 LCD Pins
The LCD pins are used on the e l e m e n t 1 4 BeagleBone Black to drive the HDMI
framer. These signals are listed in
Table 14
below.

If you are using these pins for other functions, there are a few things to keep in mind:
On the HDMI Framer, these signals are all inputs so the framer will not be
driving these pins.
The HDMI framer will add a load onto these pins.
There are small filter caps on these signals which could also change the
operation of these pins if used for other functions.
