IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS Before the chest freezer is used, it must be properly positioned and installed as described in this manual, so read the manual carefully.
HELP US HELP YOU... Read this guide carefully. Write down the model and serial numbers. It is intended to help you operate and maintain your new freezer properly. You'll find them on a plate located on the rear outside wall of the freezer. Keep it handy to answer your questions.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury when using your freezer, follow these basic precautions: Read all instructions before using the freezer. DANGER or WARNING: Risk of child entrapment. Child entrapment and suffocation are not problems of the past. Junked or abandoned appliances are still dangerous, even if they will “just sit in the garage a few days.” Before you throw away your old freezer: Take off the doors.
Electrical Connection Warning Improper use of the grounded plug can result in the risk of electrical shock. If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced by an authorized Avanti Products service center. This appliance should be properly grounded for your safety. The power cord of this appliance is equipped with a three-prong plug which mates with standard three prong wall outlets to minimize the possibility of electrical shock.
OPERATING YOUR FREEZER Temperature Control Your unit is designed to be used either as a freezer or a refrigerator. You can adjust the temperature control to select the refrigerator or freezer function according to the purpose of use. • Your unit has one control for regulating the temperature. The temperature control is located on the side of the unit at the lower left hand corner.
Fast Freeze Setting (Position # 7 in the Freezer Operation Mode) • • • • The switch overrides the thermostat and will make the compressor operate continuously, lowering the cabinet temperature still further than the thermostat setting. This switch is used to freeze unfrozen food in appreciable quantities. When loading the freezer, freeze only three pounds of fresh food per cubic foot of freezer space at one time. Distribute packages to be frozen evenly throughout the freezer.
Door Lock Your unit is provided with a lock and key combination. The keys are located inside the plastic bag that contains the User's Guide. Insert the key into the lock and turn it clockwise to unlock the door. To lock the door do the reverse operation making sure metal pin is engaged completely. Remove the key and place it in a secure place for safekeeping. CARE AND MAINTENANCE Cleaning Your Freezer • Upon installation of your new appliance, it is recommended that it be cleaned thoroughly.
PROBLEMS WITH YOUR FREEZER ? You can solve many common freezer problems easily, saving you the cost of a possible service call. Try the suggestions below to see if you can solve the problem before calling the servicer. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE PROBLEM Freezer does not operate. Compressor turns on and off frequently. Temperature inside the freezer is too warm. Temperature inside the freezer is too cold. Temperature of external freezer surface is warm. Popping or cracking sound when compressor comes on.
Vibrations. Moisture forms on inside freezer walls. Moisture forms on outside of freezer. The door will not close properly. Check to assure that the freezer is not on a level surface. Floor is uneven or weak. Freezer rocks on the floor when it is moved slightly. Be sure floor can adequately support freezer. Level the freezer by putting wood or metal shims under part of the freezer. The freezer is touching the wall. Re-level the freezer and move it from the wall.

USANDO SU CONGELADOR • Control de Temperatura Su congelador tiene un control que regula la temperatura. El control de temperatura está ubicado en el lado de la unidad en la esquina inferior a mano izquierda. Para usar como congelador: • La primera vez que encienda su unidad, gire el control de temperatura hacia la derecha, hasta que la posición “7” o “Fast Freeze” de la sección “FREEZER”.
• • • Descongelando Cuando descongelar? Para el mejor funcionamiento y consumo mínimo de energía de su congelador, descongele cuando las paredes internas estén llenas de escarcha o tengan un espesor de ¼ a ½ pulgada. Escoja un momento cuando no tenga muchos alimentos en el congelador. Cómo descongelar? Siguiendo estas indicaciones: ADVERTENCIA No use agua hirviendo porque dañará las partes de plástico.

Desconecte el congelador y retire los alimentos y la canasta de almacenaje. Lave el interior con agua tibia y un trapo suave remojado en una solución de bicarbonato de sodio.
