BATTERY USAGE C H 1 BATTERY HANDLING INFORMATION • When you charge the battery with the phone power off, you will see a charging status screen. You cannot operate the phone until it is powered on. • The battery is not charged at the time of purchase. • Fully charge the battery before use. • It is more efficient to charge the battery with the handset powered off. • The battery must be connected to the phone in order to charge it. • Battery operating time gradually decreases over time.

BASIC FUNCTIONS BASIC FUNCTIONS SPEAKER PHONE ANSWERING A CALL The speaker phone feature lets you hear audio through the speaker and talk without holding the phone. 1 To answer a call, press any key except or C H 1 To activate the speaker phone in idle, answering or calling modes, press and hold . 2 2 The phone returns to normal (Speaker phone off) after ending a call or when the phone is turned off and back on. BASIC FUNCTIONS CALLER ID FUNCTION ETIQUETTE Identifies caller by displaying their phone number. If the caller’s name and number are already stored in your phone book, they both will appear. C H BASIC FUNCTIONS Mutes key tones and activates the vibration mode to alert you of an incoming call or message. 1 To turn etiquette mode on/off, press and hold will be displayed to indicate etiquette mode is active. The caller ID is stored in the call history.
DURING A CALL To display menu options during a call, press DURING A CALL [MENU]. MUTE (UNMUTE) The caller cannot hear you or any sounds from your side but you can still hear them. MAKING AN EMERGENCY CALL This 911 feature puts the phone in the Emergency Call Mode when you dial the preprogrammed emergency number, 911. It also operates in the lock mode and out of the service area. 911 IN LOCK MODE C H 2 The 911 call service is available even in the lock mode. 1 Enter “911” then press . Chapter 3 2 The call connects. MEMORY FUNCTION 3 The phone exits the Lock Mode for 5 minutes. l When the call ends, the phone returns to the Lock Mode.
STORING A PHONE NUMBER The phone book stores up to 300 entries. 1 Enter phone number then press . 2 Choose “New Entry” or “Existing Entry”. Press [OK] to select. 3 The Phone # will appear above a list of icons. C H . 3 ENTERING LETTERS, NUMBERS & SYMBOLS The input mode (Alpha editor) will be automatically activated when necessary to enter letters and numbers. As shown below, there are 4 available modes ; Standard input mode (Abc), T9 input mode (T9Word), Numeric mode (NUM), and Symbol mode (Symbols).

The T9 input mode incorporates a built-in-dictionary to determine a word based on the entered characters. CALL HISTORY In idle mode, you can access call history by pressing CALL HISTORY [MENU] . OUTGOING CALLS Displays information of the 20 most recently outgoing calls. ALL CALLS 1 Press [MENU] . 2 You will see a message on the display (Erase All calls?). 3 Select [YES] or [NO]. Select “Yes” to erase all of the entries from your Call History list. PHONE BOOK PHONE BOOK Stores up to 300 entries, each of which can be assigned to a group. Entries can be retrieved by name or group. NEW ENTRY Adds a new entry. FIND Retrieves an entry by name and calls by simply pressing . You can review all the entries stored in your phone book list or find an entry quickly by entering a name or its character string. 1 Press [MENU] [MENU] . PHONE BOOK PHONE BOOK SPEED DIAL#’S GROUP In idle mode, calls can be placed to numbers stored in speed dial by pressing & holding the location number on the key pad. For a 2-digit location number, press the first number, then press and hold the second number. Allows you to classify phone entries into groups. Existing groups include Family, Friends, Work, Etc. and All. A maximum of seven groups is allowed. ADD NEW GROUP 1 Press [MENU] .
PHONE BOOK ERASE GROUP PICTURES TAKE A PHOTO 1 Use the Navigation Key to select, then delete the group. 2 To delete it, press [ERASE]. Taking pictures with your phone’s working integrated camera is as simple as choosing a subject, pointing the lens, then pressing a button. You can activate the Camera Mode and take pictures when the phone is open. TAKING A PICTURE THROUGH THE MENU 1 Press 3 To erase it, press or [MENU] . [YES]. 2 Point the camera lens at your subject.
PICTURES TAKING A PICTURE WITH THE PHONE CLOSED 1 Press and hold the side camera button to activate camera mode. 2 Point the camera lens at your subject. You can check the picture framing through the sub display screen. PICTURES CAMERA MODE OPTIONS When the phone is open and in Camera Mode, several user options are available. RESOLUTION Press the Navigation Key up or down to adjust the picture size from High (640x480 pixels) to Med (320x240 pixels) to Low (160x120 pixels).

New games are easy to download and play.

SETTINGS SETTINGS LOCATION SECURITY Your Cellular telephone is equipped with a Location feature for use in connection with location-based services that may be available in the future. The Location feature allows the network to detect your position. Turning Location off will hide your location from everyone except 911. Prevents unauthorized use of your cellular telephone. The following settings can be restricted: LOCK PHONE Prevents the phone from being used without entering the password first.

To erase all the names and phone numbers in your internal Phone Book: 1 Press [MENU] 2 Press . then enter “Password”. 2 Press then select “Allow” or “Restrict” with the Navigation Key. l Allow : Allows calls to a 900-dial service. l Restrict : Restricts calls to a 900-dial service. 3 To save, press C H 4 3 Read the message (Erase Phone Book?) then [OK].

VOICE RECOGNITION MODE Voice Recognition (VR) enables you to place calls using your voice and to record voice memos. 1 Press and hold until your cellular telephone turns to Voice Recognition mode. If no recorded voice dial, “No entries recorded” message will be displayed. (Refer to page 96 for how to set one up.) 2 “Please say the name after the prompt tone” will be displayed and you will hear “Name please”.
