CLEANINGTHECOMBUSTIONCOMPONENTS
Procedureforcleaningthefan,burner,FlameSensorandAFR,asusedbyallServiceRepresentatives.
1) TOOLS
‐Gatherthefollowingmaterialstogether:
a. Degreaserinapumpactionbottle,Sandpaper,Philips ScrewDriver,Needle‐NosedPliers,Duct
Tape,Flashlight,AirCompressor,ShopVacuum,3xTowels
2) POWER/GAS
‐Disconnectpowertoyourunitbyeitherunpluggingitfromthewalloutlet,orbythe
circuitbreaker,dependingonthesetup.PowerisdisconnectediftheGFIlightdoes notcomeon
afterpressingthetest/offbutton.Shutoffthegas su pply.
3) FRONTCOVER
‐Removethefrontcover.
4) COMPUTERBOARDS/GFI
‐
a. Removethethreecentralcomputerboardscrews.
b. Removethetwoscrewsholdingtheleftorrightcomputerboardinplace.
c. FORRIGHTSIDE: RemovethethreescrewsholdingtheGFIinplace
5) MANIFOLDPLATE/GASVALVEASSEMBLY
‐
a. Removethemanifoldplatescrews.TheyarewidepanheadPhilipsscrews,locatedonthe
edgesofthestampedmetalplateofthegasmanifold
b. Removethebrassgasvalvescrew.
c. RemovethewireholdingtheEasy‐Linkwires inplace.
d. Disconnecttheclearplastictubefrombeneaththecombustionchamber
e. Gentlyliftupthemanifold&gasvalveassemblytodislodgeitfromthegasinlet,andgentlyletit
hang.
i. Thereisasmallfilterscreeninthebottomofthegasinlet.Donotloseit.
