Read and understand these instructions BEFORE attempting to install this product. Failure to follow installation instructions and not using the provided hardware may damage the intake tube, throttle body and engine. The AEM® intake system is a performance product that can be used safely during mild weather conditions. During harsh and inclement weather conditions, you must return your vehicle to stock OEM air box and intake tract configuration. Failure to follow these instructions will void your warranty.
e. Remove the M6 bolt securing the washer bottle filler neck. Also unplug the passenger side headlight. f. Raise the front of the vehicle with a jack. Refer to your owner’s manual for proper jack and jack stand placement to properly support vehicle. Support your vehicle using properly rated jack stands before wheel removal or while working under the vehicle. NEVER WORK UNDER A VEHICLE WITHOUT USING JACK STANDS. Remove the front passenger wheel.
3. Installation of AEM® intake system. a. When installing the intake system, do not completely tighten the hose clamps or mounting hardware until instructed to do so. b. Install the compressor inlet coupler using a #9456 and #9444 hose clamp; orient as shown. Plug in the headlight that was unplugged in step 2e. c. Install the M6 rubber mount in the location shown. d. Install the inlet pipe by lowering the front end into position, then insert the rear end into the compressor inlet coupler.
f. From underneath the vehicle, install the air filter with the #9460 hose clamp. Slide the air filter onto the end of the inlet pipe until the pipe reaches the stop inside the filter. Once proper fitment is achieved, tighten the hose clamp. g. If the vehicle is equipped with fog lights, unwrap the convoluted slit to expose the wires, then remove the fog light wires. h. Wrap the supplied convoluted slit over the exposed fog light wires and secure with electrical tape.
l. Using two flat head screwdrivers, carefully pry up on the lip of the washer level sensor, using care not to damage the rubber grommet. A soapy water mixture may be used to aid with the sensor removal. Also, remove the grommet and set aside in a safe area. m. Insert the stock washer pump grommet into the inlet on the front of the supplied washer bottle. n. Apply some liquid soap solution to the washer pump and insert it into the grommet. Firmly press the pump all the way into the grommet. o.
p. Apply a liquid soap solution to the level sensor and insert it into the grommet. Make sure that the level sensor is pressed all the way into the grommet. The lip of the sensor should sit inside the groove of the grommet. q. Stick the self-adhesive rubber pad onto the small bump that protrudes from the washer bottle. r. Lower the washer bottle assembly into place as shown. Plug the washer hose and wire harness connector to the pump. Plug in the level sensor connector and tuck the wires away.
t. Check the fitment of the intake system and ensure there is clearance between the inlet pipe and its surrounding components. Once proper fitment is achieved, tighten all hose clamps and the M6 nut on the rubber mount. If desired, reinstall the stock air scoop removed in step 2a. u. Reinstall the inner wheel liner with the three clips and one screw removed in step 2f.
