For the Fitter
Wall fastening
The Multitherm bathroom heater is delivered packed in a single box. Take the heater and the acces-
sories out of the box.
Attention! On the VKE 151 model, the 2 towel rails (G) must be mounted with the enclosed screws
before fixing to the wall. The towel rails are mounted after installation for the VKE 150 and VKE
200 models.
To install the heater, fix the enclosed wall fastening bracket (I) with 2 screws (diameter max. 5.5
mm) and plugs to the wall as shown in the diagram.
Hang the heater in the wall bracket. Drill two holes (H) for VKE 150 and VKE 200 or one hole for
VKE 151 and insert plugs.
2.4 Electrical Connection
The heater may only be permanently connected to 1/N 230 V ~ 50 Hz with the 2-wire (VKE 151) or
3-wire connecting cable (VKE 150/VKE 200). The national safety precautions and regulations of the
energy supply company responsible must be observed. The heater must be installed electrically so
that it is possible to disconnect the heater from the mains at all poles with a contact opening dis-
tance of 3 mm. Suitable disconnecting devices are for example circuit breakers, fuses and
contactors. When installing the heater in a room with a bath or shower the power supply must be
protected by a fault current protection switch with a response current 30 mA.
The socket should be behind the heater so that the heater covers it.
The VKE 150 and VKE 200 heaters are equipped with a 3-wire connecting cable.
- outer conductor L = brown
- neutral conductor N = blue
- control cable = black
If the control cable is supplied by a manual switch or a program timer to be installed externally
with one phase (equal phase), a temperature reduction of approx. 3 K below the respective setpoint
set at the temperature regulator is achieved.
The VKE 151 is equipped with a two-wire connecting cable.
- outer conductor L = brown
- neutral conductor N = blue
The heaters are designed in protection class II without PE conductor and may therefore not be
connected to earth potential.
Attention! If the connecting cable is damaged it may only be replaced by an authorised electrician
or the customer service.
After electrical connection, the heater must be hung in the wall fastening bracket (I) and fixed
with two screws (H), (VKE 150/VKE 200) or one screw (VKE 151). The heater may not be removable
from the wall after this.
Then the towel rails (G) VKE 150 2 rails, VKE 200 3 rails must be hung in the slots on the back of
the heater.
2.5 Transfer
The functions of the heater must be explained to the user with special emphasis on the safety in-
structions. The operating and assembly instructions must be handed over to the user.
