What to do if ...
Remedying Faults
In the event of a fault, try to solve the problem yourself with the aid of
the information provided here. If you call Customer Service to deal
with one of the faults listed here or to remedy an operating fault, the
customer service technician's visit will not be free of charge, even dur-
ing the warranty period.
• It the fault code C1 or C2 appears in the
multi-display, you may be able to remedy
the fault yourself (see the fault table below).
After remedying the fault, press the button
START/PAUSE. If the fault code is displayed
again, please inform the Customer Service.
• In the case of all other displayed faults (C and number or letter),
please inform the Customer Service and state the fault code.
Problem Possible Cause Remedy
The washing machine
does not work.
Mains plug is not plugged in. Insert the mains plug.
The house fuse is faulty. Replace the fuse.
The door is not correctly
closed.
Close door; lock must engage
audibly.
START/PAUSE button not
pressed for long enough.
Press START/PAUSE button
until the programme starts.
The door cannot be
closed.
The child safety feature is
set.
Cancel child safety system
(see section on “Child Safety
System”).
The machine does not
take in water.
Fault code
(1 ap-
pears.
Water tap is turned off. Turn on the water tap.
Filter in screw connection of
the inlet hose is blocked.
Turn off the water tap. Un-
screw the hose from the tap,
remove the filter and clean
under running water.
Water tap is defective or
blocked by limescale.
Check water tap, have it re-
paired if necessary.
