ENGLISH 1. 3 SAFETY INFORMATION Before the installation and use of the appliance, carefully read the supplied instructions. The manufacturer is not responsible if an incorrect installation and use causes injuries and damages. www.aeg.com • Items that have been soiled with substances such as vegetable or mineral oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spot removers, turpentine, waxes and wax removers should be washed separately with an extra amount of detergent before being dried in the washer dryer. • Do not use the appliance if items have been soiled with industrial chemicals. • Do not dry unwashed items in the wash dryer.
ENGLISH • Adjust the feet to have the necessary space between the appliance and the flooring. • When the appliance is in its permanent position, check that it is fully level with the aid of a spirit level. Refer to 'Troubleshooting' . The symbols appear on the display when the related phase or function is set. B Child safety lock Door locked C You cannot open the appliance door when the symbol is on. You can open the door only when the symbol goes off.
ENGLISH 9 Digit area Time of the day When you activate the appliance the display shows the time of the day for some seconds. To adjust the clock, refer to "Clock setting". Programme duration When you set the programme, the cycle duration is displayed for a few seconds then, the time of the programme end appears again. Programme duration indicator The indicator comes on when the digits shows the programme duration.

www.aeg.com 7.2 Child Lock function With this function you can prevent that the children play with the control panel. • To activate/deactivate this function, touch Temp.°C and Spin buttons at the same time until the indicator comes on/goes off. You can activate this function: • After you touch Start/Pause : all the buttons and the programme knob are deactivated. • Before you touch Start/Pause : the appliance cannot start. 7.
ENGLISH 8.8 Delay Start Touch button Delay Start to delay the start of a programme from 30 minutes to 20 hours. 8.9 Time Save Touch button Time Save to decrease the programme time. You can select: • SHORTENED DURATION: to wash items with daily soil. • EXTRA QUICK: to wash quickly items with almost no soil. Some programmes accept only one of these functions. 8.10 Extra Rinse Touch this button to add rinsing phases to a programme.
www.aeg.com 9.3 Clock setting After you set the language, the display tells to set the clock. The hour digits flash. 1. Turn the programme knob to change the hour. 2. Touch Start/Pause button to confirm the selection. The minute digits flash. 3. Turn the programme knob to change the minutes. 4. Touch Start/Pause button to confirm the selection. ENGLISH CAUTION! Make sure that no laundry stays between the seal and the door. There is a risk of water leakage or damage to the laundry. Compartment for prewash phase, soak programme or stain remover. Compartment for washing phase. Compartment for liquid additives (fabric conditioner, starch). Maximum level for quantity of liquid additives. Flap for powder or liquid detergent. Washing heavily oiled, greasy stains could cause damage rubber parts of the washing machine.

When you use the liquid detergent: • Do not use gelatinous or thick liquid detergents. • Do not put more liquid then the maximum level. • Do not set the prewash phase. • Do not set the delay start. 10.6 Starting a programme without the delay start Touch button Start/Pause to start the programme. The relevant indicator stops to flash and stays on with red colour.
ENGLISH Before starting the new programme, the appliance could drain the water. In this case, make sure that the detergent is still in the detergent compartment; if not, fill the detergent again. 2. Touch the Start/Pause button. The appliance drains the water and spins. 3. When the programme is completed and the door lock indicator goes off, you can open the door. 4. ENGLISH 12.4 At the end of the drying programme • The appliance stops automatically. • The acoustic signals operate (if they are active). • In the display comes on. The text bar tells you that the programme is completed. • The indicator of button Start/Pause goes off. The door locked off goes 23 • Press the button On/Off for some seconds to deactivate the appliance. After some minutes from the end of the programme, the energy saving function automatically deactivates the appliance. 1.

The text bar tells that the appliance is operating. 13.4 At the end of the programme The appliance stops automatically. The acoustic signals operate (if they are active). ENGLISH 14.3 Detergents and additives • Only use detergents and additives specially made for washing machines: – powder detergents for all types of fabric, – powder detergents for delicate fabrics (40 °C max) and woollens, – liquid detergents, preferably for low temperature wash programmes (60 °C max) for all types of fabric, or special for woollens only. • Do not mix different types of detergents. • To help the environment, do not use more than the correct quantity of detergent.
www.aeg.com 14.10 Additional drying If, at the end of the drying programme, the laundry is still damp, set a short drying cycle again. WARNING! To avoid creasing and shrinkage do not overdry the laundry. 14.11 General Tips Experience will help you to dry the laundry better. Take note of the duration of the cycles done before. To avoid the static charge at the end of the drying cycle: 1. Use fabric conditioner in the washing cycle. 2. Use special fabric conditioner for tumble dryers.
ENGLISH 15.5 Cleaning the detergent dispenser 1. 2. 1 2 3. 4. 15.6 Cleaning the air filters The air filters collect the fluff. The fluff normally occurs when the clothes are dried in a washer-dryer. • At the end of each drying cycle in the display the indicator is on to advise to clean the primary air filter. The text bar suggests to clean the primary filter (see pictures from 1 to 5). • Occasionally the indicator may flash to remind you that both air filters should be cleaned.

Clogged air filter increases the drying time and the energy consumption! WARNING! The primary filter recess must not be blocked by any object. If you only wash the laundry with your washer-dryer, it is normal to find some humidity in the primary air filter.

www.aeg.com 7. 8. 1 2 9. 2 1 15.8 Cleaning the inlet hose filter and the valve filter It could be necessary to clean the filters when: • The appliance does not fill with water. • The appliance fills with the water for a long time. • The indicator of button Start/Pause flashes and the display shows the related alarm. Refer to 'Troubleshooting'. To clean the water inlet filters: • Close the water tap. • Remove the water inlet hose from the water tap.
ENGLISH 31 • Remove the inlet hose behind the appliance. • Clean the filter in the valve with a stiff brush or a towel. • Install again the inlet hose. Make sure that the couplings are tight to prevent leakages. • Open the water tap. 45° 20° 15.9 Emergency drain 15.10 Frost precautions Because of a malfunction, the appliance cannot drain the water. If the appliance is installed in an area where the temperature can be less than 0° C, remove the remaining water from the inlet hose and the drain pump.
www.aeg.com WARNING! Make sure that the temperature is higher than 0 °C before you use the appliance again. The manufacturer is not responsible for damages caused by low temperatures. 16. TROUBLESHOOTING WARNING! Refer to Safety chapters. 16.1 Introduction The start of the appliance does not occur or it stops during operation. First try to find a solution to the problem (refer to the table). If not, contact the Authorised Service Centre. CAUTION! Deactivate the appliance before you do the checks.

ENGLISH 35 Problem Possible solution The washing cycle is longer than the time displayed. An unbalanced laundry load increases the duration time. This is a normal behaviour of the appliance. After a steam programme, garments are partially wet. Make sure that the appliance is accurately levelled. Adjust the appliance by raising or lowering the feet. After a steam programme, garments are not sufficiently smooth. Make sure that you set a correct STEAM programme.
www.aeg.com Make sure that the water level inside the drum is not too high. If necessary, proceed with an emergency drain (refer to «Emergency drain» in «Care and cleaning» chapter). To open the door, proceed as follows: 1. Press the On/Off button to switch the appliance off. 2. Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket. 3. Open the filter flap. 4. Keep the emergency unlock trigger pulled downward and, at the same time, open the appliance door. 5.
ENGLISH 37 • Remove the cardboard top. • Remove the polystyrene packaging materials. • Remove the internal film. • Open the door. • Remove the polystyrene piece from the door seal and all the items from the drum. • Put one of the polystyrene packaging elements on the floor behind the appliance. • Carefully put down the appliance with the rear side on it. • Make sure not to damage the hoses. • Remove the polystyrene protection from the bottom.
www.aeg.com • Fully clean and dry the bottom of the appliance. • Do not use alcohol, solvents or chemical products. Make sure to identify the different sizes and the positions of the sound barriers. Refer to the illustration: • A (FRONT) = Front of the appliance • B (BACK) = Rear of the appliance A B x4 • Remove the adhesive strip from the silent barriers. • Attach the four barriers to bottom of the appliance. • Refer to the illustration. Make sure that the barriers are securely attached.
ENGLISH 39 • Remove the power supply cable and the drain hose from the hose holders. It is possible to see water flowing from the drain hose. This is due to the testing with water of the appliances in factory. • Remove the three bolts. • Use the key supplied with the appliance. • Pull out the plastic spacers. • Put the plastic caps in the holes. • You can find these caps in the user manual bag. We recommend that you keep the packaging and the transit bolts for any movement of the appliance. 17.
www.aeg.com 17.3 Installation under a counter The appliance can be installed as freestanding or below the kitchen counter with correct space (see picture). 600 mm ≥ 870 mm CAUTION! To assure free air circulation under the appliance, do not attach the sound barriers (if available). 600 mm 17.4 Positioning and levelling • Install the appliance on a flat hard floor. • Make sure that carpets do not stop the air circulation below the appliance.
ENGLISH 41 17.5 The inlet hose • Connect the hose to the back appliance. Turn the inlet hose only left or right. • Loose the ring nut to set it in the correct position. 45 20 O O • Connect the water inlet hose to the cold water tap with 3/4" thread. CAUTION! Make sure that there are no leaks from the couplings. Do not use an extension hose if the inlet hose is too short. Contact the service centre for the replacement of the inlet hose. 17.6 Water-stop device The inlet hose has a water stop device.
www.aeg.com • Make a U shape with the drain hose. On the edge of a sink • Make sure that the plastic guide cannot move when the appliance drains. Attach the guide to the water tap or the wall. To a stand pipe with vent-hole • Directly into a drain pipe at a height of not less than 60 cm (23.6”) and not more than 100 cm (39.3”). Put the drain hose in the spigot and tighten it with a clip. • Make sure that the drain hose makes a loop to prevent particles going into the appliance from the sink. To a wall-pipe • Directly to a built-in drain pipe in the room wall and tighten it with a clip. You can extend the drain hose to maximum 400 cm. Contact the service centre for the other drain hose and the extension. 18.
