Nantucket Fireclay sinks are made from fireclay, feldspar and quartz. After a production mold is made, the material is mixed together to form a "slip." This slip is injected into the mold to form the sink and left to dry. Upon inspection and hand finish work, the sink is glazed and placed in the kiln. The sink is fired at 1200 degrees for 15 hours.
