The MXL REVELATION II is a condenser microphone for studio applications, one that runs off of an EF86 pentode tube. It is designed to give you the warmth and intimacy that a classic tube microphone affords as well as a continuously variable polar pattern accessible from the accompanying power supply. Whether you need cardioid to close-mic a vocal, omnidirectional to capture the sound of the room, or anything in between, this mic can deliver the pattern. The mic itself gives you a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response from its dual, gold-sputtered, 6-micron diaphragm. The mic also offers a -10 dB pad and a selectable high-pass filter at 125 Hz, 12 dB/octave, for eliminating rumble. The power supply lets you flip the polarity should you need to do so.
