The gold plated 4040 uses the latest magnet technology for an exceptionally flat frequency response from 30Hz – 20kHz. The figure of 8 polar response remains constant in horizontal and vertical planes, giving a smooth sonic quality. The ribbon/magnet assembly has its own shock mounts separating it from the main body of the microphone
