Audeze LCD-2 Closed-back

Though less than a decade old, the original Audeze LCD-2 open-backs are already considered a classic among high-end headphone enthusiasts. But you can only really only use them in a personal setup where you can't disturb others — sound goes in and out freely. The LCD-2 Closed-backs are designed those of us who do most of our listening in places like my crowded office. They offer more privacy, yet still produce Audezes' signature spacious, three-dimensional soundstage. They also deliver incredible imaging with a great deal of clarity. The open-back version sounds a little more articulate in the highs, but this closed-back model gives you stronger bass and more forward-sounding vocals. Just remember: even with the more convenient closed-back design, you'll still need a headphone amplifier to properly drive these high-performance headphones.
