Quick Start Guide
Smoke Detector
The Zmodo Smart Accessories Kit provides a full solution to
monitor your home. All devices can be connected and
controlled through the Zmodo app. The following describes
the main features of this system.
1.Mount and Connect your Smoke Detector
Smoke Detector: When paired with a Beam, the smoke
detector alerts you with audible warning sounds and a
phone notification when smoke is detected.
Find a suitable location to install your smoke detector, and
follow the instructions for installation.
Wall-mounted detectors should be installed no further than
12 inches away from the ceiling.
Install at least 10 feet away from cooking appliances to
minimize false alarms.
Mount your detector high on walls or ceilings.
If you are installing in the basement, the detector should be
installed on the ceiling at the bottom of the stairs leading to
the next floor.
In order to optimize performance, do NOT install near
windows, doors, or vents.

Turn the smoke detector clockwise and separate it from
the mounting bracket.

Insert one CR123A Battery (included) into the battery
compartment.

In order to connect the smoke detector, access your smart
hub's Device Settings and select the "Accessories" option.
Select the Add Accessory option, follow the on-screen +
instructions, and when prompted, press and hold the button
on the detector for 3 seconds. When the status light is
blinking red and the alarm sounds, release the button, and
the detector will be paired with your Beam.

Note: The Status Light will blink red when the smoke detector has
low battery.

Referring to the placement tips, find a suitable location
for your smoke detector and install the mounting
bracket with the provided screws.

Fasten the smoke detector onto the mounting bracket.
When in use and working properly, the status light will blink
red every 48 seconds. When smoke is detected, the light
will blink red, the alarm will sound, and you will receive a
notification on your phone. You can deactivate the alarm
from the mobile app or by pressing the button on the
smoke detector.

Note: The line shown in red will be parallel to the edge of the
smoke detector when the smoke detector is placed onto the
mounting bracket. Make sure that this edge is parallel or
perpendicular to the wall for aesthetic purposes.

television reception, which can be determined by turning the
equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the
interference by one or more of the following measures:
– Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
-- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
– Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that
to which the receiver is connected.
– Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is
subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause
harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any
interference received, including interference that may cause
undesired operation.
