Important Safety Instructions t It is most important that this instruction book should be retained with the appliance for future reference. Should the appliance be sold or transferred to another owner, or should you move house and leave the appliance, always ensure that the book is supplied with the appliance in order that the new owner can be acquainted with the functioning of the appliance and the relevant warnings. These warnings are provided in the interest of safety.
■ ■ ■ ■ ■ During normal operation, the condenser and compressor at the back of the appliance heat up considerably. For safety reasons, minimum ventilation must be as shown in the relevant Figure. Attention: keep ventilation openings clear of obstruction. If the appliance is transported horizontally, it is possible that the oil contained in the compressor flows in the refrigerant circuit.
t Use The freezer is marked with the symbol, which means that the compartment is suitable for freezing fresie food and for long-term storage of frozen food. Cleaning the appliance's interior Before using the appliance for the first time, wash all internal parts with lukewarm water and neutral soap so as to remove the typical «new» smell and then dry thoroughly. Freezing of fresh foods Important To quick-freeze foods when the appliance has not been in use, switch on the freezer and let it run on the quick-freeze setting for at least three hours before putting the food to be *frozen in the compartment. If instead the appliance is already in operation, it should run on the quick-freeze setting for at least 24 hours before the foods are put in the freezer.
t Ice cube production This appliance is equipped with trays for the production of ice-cubes. Fill these trays with water to 3/4 of their height, then put them in the freezer compartment. The ice-cubes may be shaken out from the trays by simply twisting; do not use metallic instruments to remove the trays from the freezer. Defrosting Frost should be removed with the special plastic scraper provided, whenever the thickness exceeds 4 mm.
Maintenance Unplug the appliance before carrying out any maintenance operation. Idle periods During periods when the appliance is not used, you should take the following precautions: remove the plug from the wall socket; remove all food from the appliance; defrost and clean the interior and all accessories; leave the door slightly open, thus letting air circulate and preventing the formation of mould and unpleasant smells.

If by any chance the sockets of your domestic wiring system are not earthed, the appliance must be connected to a separate earth or ground wire by a qualified electrician, in accordance with existing safety regulations.
Door reversibility Before carrying out the operations described below, pull out the mains plug from the wall socket. Proceed as follows: 1. Remove bottom hinge (5). 2. Remove door (4). 3. Unscrew pin (2) from the top hinge (1) and refit it on the opposite side. 4. Unscrew part (6) and refit it on the opposite side. 5. Refit the door and the bottom hinge on the opposite side. 6. Remove handle (3) and refit it on the opposite side.

E Protección del ambiente ■ ■ ■ Si el aparato es transportado en forma horizontal es posible que el aceite contenido en el compresor pose al circuito refrigerante. Esperar par lo menos das horas antes de poner en marche el aparato para dar tiempo a que el aceite regrese al compresor. El aparato no debe ser colocado cerca de termosifones o cocinas a gas. Solamente para los congeladores (excluidos los empotrados): su mejor ubicación es el sótano.
Uso El congelador está marcado con el simbolo , que indica que es opto para la congelación de los alimentos frescos y para la conservación de alimentos congelados a largo plazo. Limpieza de las partes internas Antes del empleo limpiar todas las partes internas con agua tibia y jabón neutro, a fin de eliminar el característico olor de nuevo y secarlas luego cuidadosamente. E rápida al menos 24 horas antes de introducir en él los alimentos. Una vez metidos Los alimentos en el compartimiento, la congelación se puede considerar completada después de 24 horas. Después de este periodo es necesario restablecer el funcionamiento de «conservación». Los alimentos por congelar se colocan en el compartimiento superior. La capacidad de congelación se indica en la matrícula en el interior del compartimiento, abajo a la izquierda (... kg/24 horas).
Cubitos de hielo El congelador está dotado de una bandejita para la formación de cubitos de hielo. Hay que llenar dicha bandejita con agua potable y colocarla en el congelador. Se recomienda no emplear utensilios metálicos para despegar la bandejita. Eliminación de la escarcha En el compartimiento habrá que eliminar la escarcha cada vez que se haya formado un gran espesor (de unos 4 mm), con el rascador de plástico adecuado, en dotación con el aparato.
E Manutencion Desenchufar el aparato antes de efectuar cualquier operación. Períodos de inactividad Durante los períodos de inactividad, observar las siguientes precauciones: desenchufar el aparato; sacar todos los alimentos; descongelar y limpiar el interior y cada accesorio; dejar la puerta entornada para facilitar la circulación del aire en el interior, a fin de evitar la formación de olores desagradables.

E Conexión eléctrica Antes de enchufar el aparato, asegurarse de que la tensión y la frecuencia indicadas en la tarjeta matricula, correspondan a las de la instalación doméstica. Se admite una oscilación de 6% sobre la tensión nominal. Para el funcionamiento a tensiones distintas, habrá que utilizar un autotransformador de potencia adecuada. Reversibilidad de la puerta Antes de efectuar cualquier operación, desenchufe el aparato.
