OPERATION Before using Remove all securing tapes. Wash inside the appliance with lukewarm water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water). Do not use soap or detergent as the smell may linger. Dry thoroughly. When the ambient temperature is between 10¡C and 16¡C, the slider control should be in the ÒcoldÓ position. When the ambient temperature is above 16¡C the slider control should be midway between ÒcoldÓ and ÒcoldestÓ. When the ambient temperature is very high (i.e.
Warning If using the appliance with the salad drawer removed, please ensure the vent in the back wall of the appliance is not obstructed. Vent Dual purpose meat box D756 The meat box can also be used for storing salad. Positioning the door shelves The door shelves can be easily removed for cleaning. Gently ease the shelf in the directions shown. Adjustment of the door shelves can be made to accommodate varying heights of bottles and other containers.
Cool Check Guide The guide consists of a temperature sensitive strip sealed in a shelf trim. When the fridge is operating at the safe temperature to store food the guide will appear black. If the temperature rises above this level the guide will show the words TOO WARM. Positioning of the Cool Check The shelf with the cool check temperature guide must be placed in the fridge according to the instructions located on the fridge wall and always ensure the guide is at the front.
The freezer compartment Thawing The four-star freezer compartment is suitable for storage of commercially frozen food and for freezing fresh foods. Frozen food can be thawed in the fridge or at room temperature depending on the time available. Small food items may even be cooked from frozen; in this case cooking will take longer. Freezing fresh food When freezing fresh foods set the slider control to the ÒcoldÓ position and turn the thermostat control to a higher setting.
Normal Operating Sounds The advanced design of todayÕs frost free appliances mean you hear unfamilar noises during everyday operation. The diagram below describes some of the noises you may hear. These are quite normal and mean your appliance is operating correctly The thermostat control will click when starting or stopping the compressor. The fan circulates cold air to cool the refrigerator and the freezer compartment and sounds like air blowing or a whirring sound.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING Before any maintenance or cleaning work is carried out, DISCONNECT the appliance from the ELECTRICITY supply. Internal cleaning Changing the light bulb Should the interior light fail to work, first switch off the appliance and disconnect from the electricity supply, then replace the bulb as follows; Clean the inside and accessories with warm water and bicarbonate of soda (5ml to 0.5 litre of water). Rinse and dry thoroughly.

INSTALLATION Warning IF YOU ARE DISCARDING AN OLD APPLIANCE THAT HAS A LOCK OR CATCH ON THE DOOR, YOU MUST ENSURE THAT IT IS MADE UNUSABLE TO PREVENT YOUNG CHILDREN BEING TRAPPED INSIDE. Depending upon the position which you choose for your appliance, you may wish to reverse the way in which the door opens. To do this, refer to instructions on ÒDoor reversal directionsÓ paragraph. You should also ensure that air can circulate freely around the back and the top of the cabinet.
Electrical connections Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED. The manufacturer declines any liability should this safety measure not be observed. If the plug that is fitted to your appliance is not suitable for your socket outlet, it must be cut off and the appropriate plug fitted. For replacement, use a 13amp BSI362 fuse.
