USE Starting-up and temperature regulation Insert the plug into the wall socket. Open the refrigerator door and turn the thermostat knob, to be found on the top right hand side of the inner liner, clockwise beyond the «O» position, to start the appliance. GB temperature of the food to be frozen cannot increase the temperature of frozen foods. Never load a larger quantity of foods than that recommended. During freezing, never add other food to be frozen and do not open the door too often.
Food refrigeration To achieve the best results with the refrigerator compartment, you should follow one or two very simple rules: Do not put warm foods or evaporating liquids in the refrigerator. Cover or wrap foods (particularly if they have a strong smell). Do not cover the shelves (grids) with paper or plastic since this blocks circulation of air in the compartment.
For more thorough cleaning, the top door shelf can be removed by pulling it in the direction of the arrows, then refitting it in position (Fig. 13). Fig. 13 D009 Use and features of the «CRISP’N FRESH» filter Fig. 14 The glass shelf on top of the vegetable drawer is fitted with a special filter called «CRISP’N FRESH» which ensures the correct amount of ventilation, and significantly reduces the rate of food dehydration; vegetables therefore store better and keep longer. D002 Fig.
Defrosting Frost is automatically eliminated from the evaporator of the refrigerator compartment every time the motor compressor stops, during normal use. The defrost water drains out through a trough into a special container at the back of the appliance, over the motor compressor, where it evaporates. Fig. 16 It is important to periodically clean the defrost water drain hole in the middle of the refrigerator compartment channel to prevent the water overflowing and dripping onto the food inside.
MAINTENANCE Unplug the appliance before carrying out any maintenance operation. GB Interior light The light bulb inside the refrigerator compartment can be reached as follows: Periodic cleaning ª unscrew the light cover securing screws; Never use metal objects for cleaning your appliance as it may get damaged. Clean the inside with warm water and bicarbonate of soda. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Periods of non-operation ª unhook the moving part by pressing it as shown in the figure.
