INSTALLATION GB If this appliance featuring magnetic door seals is to replace an older appliance having a spring lock on the door or lid, be sure to make that spring lock unusable before you discard the old appliance. This will prevent it from becoming a death-trap for a child. Positioning A B 10 mm 100 mm Fig. 1 10 mm The appliance should be installed well away from sources of heat such as radiators, boilers, direct sunlight etc.
Power connection Before plugging in the appliance to the mains socket, check that the voltage and frequency indicated on the appliance’s rating plate are the same as those provided by your home power supply. A 6% fluctuation above or below rated voltage is acceptable. For operation at different voltages, a suitable transformer should be used. The appliance MUST be connected to an efficient earth or ground tap. The supply-lead plug in fact incorporates a special earth or ground contact for this purpose.
Door reversibility Unplug the appliance before performing the following operations: Fig. 3 E C Carefully lay the appliance on its back. A D Remove the foot (A-Fig. 3). Remove the hinge (C) by unscrewing the screws (B). Remove the stop catch (E) by unscrewing the screws (D). Slide the door out of the upper hinge. Remove the upper hinge and fit on the opposite side (Fig. 4). B D473 Reassemble the door, inserting the upper hinge pin into the bushing on the door. Fig.
USE GB Start-up - temperature regulation After plugging the appliance, turn the thermostat knob located at the top right of the fridge, clockwise to the required position (apart from position «O» - off). Medium setting is recommended. Temperature is kept constant automatically and can be increased by turning the knob to lower numbers, or reduced by turning it to higher numbers.
Refrigeration of food The refrigerator compartment is used to store foods and drinks. For best results, see the following rules: do not put warm foods or evaporating liquids in the refrigerator; cover or wrap foods (particularly if they have a strong smell or contain aromatic herbs); do not cover the shelves with paper or plastic since this blocks circulation of air in the compartment. Moreover: cooked foods, cold dishes, jelly, etc. should be covered and can be stored on any shelf.
Storage of frozen food The compartment is also suitable for the storage of frozen foods; in this case follow these simple rules: Turn the thermostat knob to the coldest setting (if the room temperature is lower than 20°C it is necessary to arrange the baffleplate so as to obtain a higher temperature in the refrigerating compartment). Remember that, in this condition, the refrigerating compartment temperature might drop below 0°C. If this occurs reset the thermostat knob to a warmer setting.
When defrosting is completed, operation starts automatically; however, the water should be drained from the basin placed inside the meat drawer (Fig. 11). Fig. 11 Defrosting should be carried out when the compartment is empty. Ice cubes The appliance includes one or more trays for producing ice cubes. These trays should be filled with drinking water and repositioned inside the relative compartment. Do not use metal tools to remove these trays when they are stuck-frozen inside the compartment.
MAINTENANCE Prior to undertaking any maintenance operation, be sure to unplug the appliance from the wall socket as a safety precaution. Periodical cleaning GB Interior light (Fig. 12) The light bulb inside the refrigerator compartment can be reached as follows: - unscrew the light cover securing screw, - unhook the moving part as shown in the figure. Clean the interior periodically with lukewarm water and some sodium bicarbonate; Fig.
