Make sure that air circulation around the machine is not impeded by carpets, rugs etc. Check that the machine does not touch the wall or other kitchen units. Carefully level by screwing the adjustable feet in or out. Never place cardboard, wood or similar materials under the machine to compensate for any unevenness in the floor.

Hooked over the edge of a sink using the plastic hose guide supplied with the machine. In this case, make sure the end cannot come unhooked when the machine is emptying. This could be done by tying it to the tap with a piece of string or attaching it to the wall.

The lights above the programme buttons indicate the chosen programme. 4 • Start the programme pressing the Start/Pause button.

Pressing the ON/OFF button the machine is switched on and off; the machine can be programmed when three dashes are blinking on the display. 95˚ C Cancellation of a programme 60˚ C 40˚ C If you want to cancel a programme already started, you must switch the machine off. The chosen programme is cancelled in this way.
132998780•gb.qxd 15-02-2001 12:22 Pagina 12 There are 3 possibilities to drain the water: Prewash • Choose the “Drain” programme. The water is drained without spin. The machine carries out a prewash at 30°C max.; the washing programme will last for about 20 minutes longer. With the programmes for cotton and synthetic fabrics the prewash will end with a short spin, while with the delicate programme there is only the draining of the water. It is used for very soiled laundry.

Now you can select the washing programme or recall a memorized programme by operating the MEMORY buttons; pressing the START/PAUSE button the programme will start.

Duration After starting the programme, the remaining time is updated every minute. After having set the programme, the display shows the duration in hours and minutes (ex.. 2.05). Incorrect option selection If an option which is not compatible with the set wash programme is selected, the message Err is displayed.

During these hours it is possible, when the Pause button is pressed, to open the door and to add some clothes. Depress Start button after closing the door. Sort the laundry as follows: whites, coloureds, synthetics, delicates, woollens. Temperatures 95° 60° for normally soiled white cottons and linen (e.g. tea cloths, towels, tablecloths, sheets...) for normally soiled, colour fast garments (e.g.
15-02-2001 12:22 Pagina 17 Quantity of detergent to be used Ink: depending on the type of ink, moisten the fabric first with acetone (*), then with acetic acid; treat any residual marks on white fabrics with bleach and then rinse thoroughly. The type and quantity of detergent will depend on the type of fabric, load size, degree of soiling and hardness of the water used. Tar stains: first treat with stain remover, methylated spirits or benzine, then rub with detergent paste.

As a dryer, the machine works on the condensation principle. The following symbols refer to drying: Therefore, the water tap must be open and the drain hose must drain water into a sink or into the drain pipe, even during the drying cycle.

Do not exceed the MAX level. Washing only Before washing your first load of laundry, we recommend that you run a cotton cycle at 60°C, with the machine empty, to remove any manufacturing residue from the drum and tub. Pour half a measure of detergent in the compartment of the detergent drawer and start the machine.

Bodywork The drain filter collects threads and small objects inadvertently left in the laundry. Check regularly that the filter is clean.

Frost precautions If you notice that the machine is taking longer to fill, check that the filter in the water inlet hose is not blocked. If the machine is installed in a place where the temperature could drop below 0°C, proceed as follows: Turn off the water tap. • Close the water tap and unscrew the water inlet hose from the tap. Unscrew the hose from the tap.

During machine operation it is possible that one of the following alarm codes appears on the display: - E10: problem with the water supply - E20: problem with water draining - E40: door open - EF0: the drain filter is clogged. Once the problem has been eliminated, press the START/PAUSE button all checks, the problem persists, contact your local Service Centre. Problem to restart the programme.

The door can only be opened when the relevant light has gone out. • Spinning starts late or the laundry is not spun enough: • The electronic unbalance detection device has cut in because the laundry is not evenly distributed in the drum.
