Counterclockwise propellers are marked with a letter “L” after the size indication. The wrong type of propeller could cause the boat to go in an unexpected direction, which could lead to an accident.

You should give the right-of-way to any vessels shown in white area (you are the Give-Way vessel). Any vessels in the shaded area must yield to you (they are the Give-Way vessels). Both you and the meeting vessel must alter course to avoid each other.

If another vessel is around the bend, it too should sound the whistle. Even if no reply is heard, however, the vessel should still proceed around the bend with caution. If any gasoline spills onto your skin, immediately wash with soap and water. Change clothing if gasoline spills on it.

When the key is released, it returns automatically to the “ ” (on) position. Pressing the switch “ ” (up) trims the outboard motor up, then tilts it up.

Pushing the switch “ ” (up) trims the outboard motor up, then tilts it up. Pressing the switch “ ” (down) tilts the outboard motor down and trims it down.

Get back to the port within trolling engine speed. The fuel level is indicated by eight segments. When all segments are showing, the fuel tank is full.

EMU26760 Fuel consumption meter This gauge displays the total amount of fuel consumed since the gauge was last reset. Press the “ ” (mode) button repeatedly until the indicator on the face of the gauge points to total “ ” (total). To reset the total fuel consumption to zero, press the “ ” (set) and “ ” (mode) buttons at the same time.

Gasoline blends have been changing in recent years in response to concerns about pollution and resulting emissions regulations. One of the most obvious changes has been the elimination of lead from most fuels.

This is generally when the keel line of the boat is up about 3 to 5 degrees. With the bow up, the boat may have a greater tendency to steer to one side or the other. Compensate for this as you steer. The trim tab can also be adjusted to help offset this effect.

Otherwise severe damage from overheating can result.

When transporting and storing the outboard motor, close the air vent screw and fuel cock to prevent fuel from leaking. USE CARE when transporting fuel tank, whether in a boat or car. DO NOT fill fuel container to maximum capacity. Gasoline will expand considerably as it warms up and can build up pressure in the fuel container.

Clean the battery casing and terminals. Fill each cell to the upper level with distilled water. 3.

Remove the bolts that are securing the spark plug cap, and then remove the cap. 3. Remove the spark plug. If electrode erosion becomes excessive, or if carbon and other deposits are excessive, you should replace the spark plug with another of the correct type.

Add the correct amount of oil through the filler hole, and install the filler cap.

If a torque wrench is not available when you are installing the drain screw, finger tighten the screw just until the gasket comes into contact with the surface of the drain hole.
