SAFETY AND OPERATING MANUAL ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS Reciprocating saw WU404 WU407 WU407L
General power tool safety warnings entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock. d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock. e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations. f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts. g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used.

Technical data Vibration information Vibration total values (triax vector sum) determined according to EN 60745: Vibration emission value ah CW=5.61m/s2 • Cutting into wood Uncertainty K=1.
Helping to minimise your vibration exposure risk. ALWAYS use sharp chisels, drills and blades Maintain this tool in accordance with these instructions and keep well lubricated (where appropriate) If the tool is to be used regularly then invest in anti vibration accessories. Avoid using tools in temperatures of 100C or less Plan your work schedule to spread any high vibration tool use across a number of days.
Operating instructions Note: Before using the tool, read the instruction book carefully. 8 Intended Use The machine is intended for sawing wood, plastic, metal, and building materials while resting firmly on the workpiece. It is suitable for straight and curved cuts. When using the appropriate bimetal saw blades, it is possible to cut flush to the workpiece surface. The saw blade recommendations must be observed.
control without positive stops between 1 and 6 according to your work. Refer to the table to select the proper speed for the workpiece to be cut. However, the appropriate speed may differ with the type or thickness of the workpiece. In general, higher speeds will allow you to cut workpieces faster but the service life of the blade will be reduced.
A A B B C C D D 3 HAND GRIP AREAS (See Fig. C) Always hold your saw firmly with both hands when operating. 4 TOOL-LESS BLADE FITTING (See Fig. D, E) To install the blade, disconnect the saw from power supply. If necessary, extend the pivoting blade foot away from the blade clamp for easier access. Pull the tool-less blade clamp lever (3) up with your thumb in clockwise direction. (See Fig.
6 E E F F G G H H II JJ K K L L Note: The pivoting blade foot must be held firmly against the material being cut to reduce saw vibration, blade jumping and blade breakage. 6 PENDULUM ACTION CONTROL (See Fig. G) The pendulum action varies the down cutting angle of the blade for increased cutting efficiency. This can also be adjusted during no load running. Do not use excessive blade force when cutting with the pendulum action.
G G H H I J JJ K L 9 METAL CUTTING This saw has different metal cutting capacities depending upon the type of blade being used and metal being cut. ALWAYS clamp the work down to prevent it from slipping. Use a finer blade for ferrous metals and a coarse blade for nonferrous metals. When cutting thin gauge sheet metals, ALWAYS clamp wood on both sides of the sheet. This will give you a clean cut without excess II vibration or tearing of the metal. DO NOT force the cutting blade.
Work hints for your reciprocating saw replaced at the same time. When changing worn carbon brushes, use a slotted screwdriver to remove the brush holder caps. Take out the worn carbon brushes, insert the new ones and make sure the carbon brushes moving freely in the brush holders. Finally, secure the brush holder caps. If your power tool becomes too hot, set the speed to maximum and run a no load for 2-3 minutes to cool the motor. Always ensure the work-piece is firmly held or clamped to prevent movement.
