The Hardware Interface Driver, which can be G-SPI or SDIO, is partitioned between the host and the firmware on the WiFi. The WLAN firmware for the WiFi is downloaded through the selected host interface (G-SPI or SDIO) by the Hardware Interface Driver at power up.
