en ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS Fuse replacement If the mains lead of this appliance is fitted with a BS 1363A 13amp fused plug, to change a fuse in this type of plug use an A .S .T .A . approved fuse to BS 1362 type and proceed as follows: 1. Remove the fuse cover (A) and fuse (B) 2. Fit replacement 13A fuse into fuse cover A 3. Refit both into plug Important: The fuse cover must be refitted when changing B a fuse and if the fuse cover is lost, the plug must not be used until a correct replacement is fitted.
en • • • • • While the water is boiling or just after the water has boiled, avoid any contact with the steam. Risk of scalding: the kettle gets hot during use. Therefore use only the handle to pick it up and open the lid only after the kettle has cooled down. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance full of hot water. Always take care to pour boiling water slowly and carefully without tipping the kettle too fast as boiling water may cause scalds.

en Ensure the switch is free of obstructions and the lid is firmly closed: the kettle could not properly turn off if the switch is constrained or if the lid is open. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet before cleaning. 1. Wipe the outside of the body with a damp cloth or cleaner. Never use a toxic cleaner. 2. Remember to clean the filter on a regular basis. For easier cleaning, detach the filter by by pulling it upwards (see pic. 1).
