You can use either the power adaptor or a dock to charge the batteries. The Backup Battery Low warning (shown here) opens if you turn the unit on before charging is complete. CAUTION When you install the battery pack, the device will power on.

You must charge the Adaptor Power Port batteries for thirteen (13) hours prior to first use. Charge the battery completely. Subsequent charge cycles require four (4) hours. Backup Battery Battery Compartment, Cover, and Latch The backup battery maintains the date/time and other persistent functions.

Press the reset button and key simultaneously to initiate a cold reset. PSC recommends that you always attempt a warm reset first. CAUTION: Do not use a paper clip on the reset button, or you could disable the reset function, puncture the industrial seal, and void your warranty.
2432.book Page 9 Thursday, May 13, 2004 12:07 PM Batteries Batteries The battery pack in the PDA is a Lithium Ion Polymer battery pack 3.7V. The power LED flashes blue to indicate a low battery state. Do not turn the unit on until batteries are charged for a minimum of 13 hours. When you put the battery pack into the unit, it may turn on automatically. Press the button to turn the unit off before initiating the charging cycle.

Please refer to the appropriate sections in the Falcon 4220 Product Reference Guide for more information. Starting the Device Powering On: Press the Power/Backlight key briefly to turn the unit on. The Backlight comes on automatically. Press this key again briefly to turn the unit off.

Press and briefly hold the stylus on the center of each target as it moves around the screen. To recalibrate the touchscreen if it seems out of alignment, press the + keys simultaneously to open the Stylus Calibration (Align Screen) window.

To access the secondary features and functions, you must first press a function keys to access the desired state. You will press multiple keys simultaneously. Numeric Mode. In Numeric (normal) mode, the ten alpha-numeric keys generate numeric characters.

The Task bar includes menu names, buttons, and the keyboard icon, which opens and closes the soft input panel (SIP). The Task bar allows you to select and close programs. Start Button. Click the Start button to open the Start menu.

Never look directly into the laser light or shine the laser light into the eyes. WARNING Remove the protective plastic film from the scan window of units equipped with laser scanners or the scanner will be unable to read the bar code. Before being able to scan bar codes, you must open the Quick ScanSet application.

Once you initiate a cold reset, all applications are forcibly closed and working RAM and files are cleared. Do not use a paper clip on the reset button. Use the stylus for that purpose. The use of a paper clip could puncture the reset key’s IP54 industrial sealing.
