Wireless Smoke Alarm
(Hardwire with battery back-up)
Thank you for purchasing a Kidde Wireless Interconnect smoke alarm. It is an important part of your familys home safety plan. You
can trust this product to provide the highest level of quality and performance. We know you expect nothing less when the lives of your
family are at stake. This alarm, in combination with other Kidde Wireless products, provides you with interconnected alarms without
the inconvenience or expense of rewiring your house. In a fire, seconds count. An interconnected alarm system gives you an increased
level of safety by ensuring that all the alarms in your home activate when any one of the alarms detect a fire. Kidde estimates that the
smoke alarms in 85 million homes in the US are not interconnected. In addition, Kidde offers battery only WIRELESS alarms that
can be used to monitor additional areas while maintaining interconnect functionality, which may provide an earlier warning of a
hazardous condition. Some of the other features that are included in this unit are:
Smart Hush® allows you to quiet your alarm while taking care of a non-emergency event (see section 4).
Remote Hush® temporarily desensitizes the initiating Kidde Wireless alarm from any Kidde Wireless unit (see section 4).
Remote Push To Test that causes each Wireless unit in your system to perform a self-diagnosis whenever the test button is
pressed on any of the Kidde Wireless devices (see section 4).
Internal timer to remind you to replace your unit after 10 years to ensure the most reliable protection (see section 6).
Low Battery HUSH allows you to stop the smoke alarm from producing a low battery warning for up to twelve hours,
allowing you to maintain protection without having to replace the battery at inconvenient times such as the middle of the night.
DO NOT connect two RF-SM-ACDC alarms to a hard wire interconnected system. Doing so will result in the RF-SM-ACDC alarms
triggering each other. They will not stop alarming until one is disconnected from the electrical circuit. If your home has wired in
alarms, which are not interconnected, you can use up to twelve RF-SM-ACDC alarms.
