What Cables Do I Use?
The combination of cables that you will use depends on the types of ports your
laptop has. Take a look at your laptop and note which ports you have and how
many.
Below is a chart of some of the most common ports found on a laptop. Check it
out for reference.
Now that you know which ports your laptop has you can determine what
cable(s) you need to connect each screen. Remember that each screen
requires both a video and power feed to function.
If your laptop has an available Thunderbolt 3 port or USB-C with DisplayPort
you can provide both power and video to one of the Tri-Screens over a single
USB-C cable.
If your laptop has an available HDMI port and a USB-A port (the "normal" USB
port) then you will 2 separate cables. The HDMI cable for video and the USB-A
to USB-C cable for power.
If you don't have an available HDMI port then you can use any other video out
port shown above, along with a simple HDMI adapter for video and the USB-A
to USB-C cable for power.
