QUICK START 1 1.1 Grundig E660 Getting Started Switching on and off To switch on Press and hold the red button. A pin code may be requested, see below. To switch off Press and hold the red button. To enter a pin code If the pin code option is set, then you will be requested to enter your personal code. 1. Using the keypad, enter the digits of your pin code. 2. Press the button directly below the OK icon. 3. If all digits were entered correctly, your E660 will display its standby screen.
QUICK START Grundig E660 The status area The top section of the standby screen provides status and general information, such as battery charge condition, signal strength, the name of the mobile network currently being used, the time and the date, message status, GPRS availability and alert setting. Time and date The current time and date are shown clearly within the status area.

When your E660 rings or vibrates, a pop-up screen will be displayed. § If the caller’s number is available, it will be displayed. § If the caller is a contact within your Phonebook, their name will be displayed. § If a picture is associated with the caller details, it will be displayed – see “Multimedia”. 2. QUICK START 2.1 Grundig E660 Browser applications Browser applications are chosen by selecting their entries from a textual menu. To enter the Browser menu and select an option 1. From the standby screen, press the e-moción softkey to enter the Browser menu. 2. Use the navigator key to highlight the required option and then press the central softkey. Alternatively, you can just press the keypad button that corresponds to the number that prefixes the required option.

QUICK START 2.2.4 2.2.4.1 Grundig E660 Using applications Applications 2.2.4.1.1 Camera Your E660 allows you to take instant snapshot pictures using its integral colour camera. Once captured you can then: send your snapshots to other people (via multimedia messaging); associate a snapshot with a phonebook contact; create a wallpaper image that will be shown as a backdrop to the standby screen; store and view your snapshots within the Photo album application. QUICK START 2.2.4.1.3 Grundig E660 Video To enter Video Camera 1. From the standby screen, press the Menu softkey. 2. Highlight the Application icon and press the OK softkey. 3. Highlight the Video entry and press the OK softkey. You should now see on screen, exactly what your E660 video camera is currently viewing. Note: If you do not see an image on screen, ensure that the camera (located on the rear of your E660 is not obscured. To take a video 1.
QUICK START Grundig E660 To record a new message 1. Within the voice memo screen, press the Context menu softkey and select the ‘New’ option. The record/playdeck will be displayed: 2. Press the Record softkey and speak your message clearly into the E660 mouthpiece. 3. Press the Stop softkey, then press the Context menu softkey and select the ‘Save’ option. To play a message 1. Within the voice memo screen, highlight the required recording from the list. 2. Press the OK softkey.

From the standby screen, press the Menu softkey, select the Calls icon and then select the Voice mail entry. 2. Select the Voice mail greetings entry. 3. QUICK START 2.2.4.4 Grundig E660 Multimedia Your E660 provides a range of tools to assist your creative side. The multimedia applications consist of the following: § Melody: You can choose a melody as ringtone. § Images: Here you find all your stored images. § Videos: Here you can find all your recorded videos. § Frames: Your Grundig E660 offers you a wired range of funny frames to personalize your pictures.
QUICK START Grundig E660 To edit a Phonebook entry 1. In the list of Phonebook contacts, highlight the required entry. 2. Press the Context menu softkey and select the ‘Modify’ option. Add, change or delete items, as necessary. 3. Press the Context menu softkey and select the ‘Save’ option to return to the list of contacts. To search for a Phonebook entry 1.
QUICK START Grundig E660 Create a message from the Messaging application: i From the standby screen, press the Messaging softkey and select the ‘SMS’ option. ii Select the ‘New’ option and press the ‘OK’ softkey. iii Enter the required mobile phone number and press the ‘OK’ softkey. 2. Highlight the ‘Enter text’ area and press the OK softkey to display the message editor. Use the keypad to enter your message.
QUICK START Grundig E660 To add a subject 1. Within the addressing screen, use the navigator key to highlight the ‘Subject’ option box and press the OK softkey. 2. Use the displayed text editor to enter a suitable subject for your message and press the OK softkey. To address your message to a single recipient 1. Within the addressing screen, use the navigator key to highlight the ‘To:1’ option box.

As appropriate, select either: • Add slide – to add the new slide immediately after the current slide, or • Insert slide – to add the new slide immediately before the current slide. The new slide will be shown as a blank screen with a red numbered box in the upper right corner will indicate the slide number and total number of slides e.g. [2/3].

QUICK START Grundig E660 2.2.4.7.3 Connection Setting This application allows you to define and select different connection profiles for WAP or MMS purpose. 2.2.4.7.4 Security Use this option to set and modify your PIN code. When changing the PIN code, for security reasons, your E660 will ask you twice to enter the code. 2.2.4.7.5 Network Allows you to search for new networks and maintain a list of preferred networks when roaming (away from your home network). 2.2.4.
QUICK START 2.2.4.9.2 Grundig E660 Alarm This tool offers all the functions of a standard alarm clock. 2.2.4.9.3 Calculator This tool offers all the functions of a standard desktop calculator. To enter the Calculator • From the standby screen, press the Menu softkey, then select the Extras icon and finally select the Calculator entry. 2.2.4.9.4 Calendar The calendar helps you to organise your daily schedule so that you no longer miss those important appointments.
